lots of what we do is baffling, i like iongi but why give a guy with 20 fg games a 5 year deal? strange
Baffling wed try to lock down a 22 year old who showed really good signs in his first and second season. Yes he needs to work on his defensive positioning and support play but the kid looks very good and is probably our only player other than moses that might play origin in that time. Better now on a 5 year deal where you get him for cheaper than 2 years and then hes a 900k player and we have no cap or have to shuffle the roster around to sign him long term again. Imagine all the bitching if we didnt sign him long term and he went somwhere else. Wed be in fkn shambles.

He is getting more than $650. He walked away from an option for $750 to go to the powerhouse that is the eels.
If he is getting $650k now it’s massively backloaded. What could go wrong with that?
Wouldnt blame him last year for taking the paycut to leave the tigers. Looks silly now though. Did see reports it was 650k closer to the end of his deal but who knows

Stupid decision last year as well. Probably cost him money in short term and maybe long term but more importantly cost him development. Training with Api and still the same bench gig as at parra. Could have left end of next year anyway (but may not have wanted to).

best mates with Galvin which I don’t think is a coincidence

Why come on the eels forum and sarcastically say the powerhouse the eels are when in your smug way you know we are the opposite at present , imo you are an asshole that enjoys rubbing eels fans up the wrong way , we know where crap and we hate it and we don't need a fwit from another club rubbing salt into our wounds

I know TDS has limitations, and I don't like how we got him off you guys - but he's been pretty good, tbh.

He's definitely improving.

He has a long way to go, but he is playing food footy - against you guys, he threw a corker of a pass that should have been a try to the Fox, but the Fox dropped it.

I dont beleive you sorry mate. It is just highly doubtfull a rookie was offered 750k whilst you had apparently a better one on books along with Api.

Lol They both got the spoon after he was appointed and aren’t you always going on about how the best personnel end up at the best clubs?
Matty Jay is a proven failure wherever he goes.
Fitness coaches are interchangeable. They either have the skills to develop a program or they don't, and these days I'm sure there's apps that will generate your program for you. What determines a team's fitness is its senior players. Conditioning work is painful over long periods of time, and some blokes just have what it takes to push themselves that extra mile. The ones who don't have what it takes can still be motivated by others, but it's not coaches who do this; it's teammates going through the same torture in the moment. Blokes reach quitting point and think that's it. The fitness coach doesn't know how much he's got left in the tank, but his mentally stronger teammates can show him how much more he's got. It's not the quality of the coaching; it's the quality of leadership that matters for team conditioning.

Source: I experienced this in the army. I've done so much conditioning work that I'm not even 50 but riddled with arthritis.

I would trial kelma in the middle. He has line breaking ability and running of Dylan like luca and Doorey might work.

On the middle, his lateral defence deficiency might not be as bad

If it doesn't work, throw him
Mobility requires agility/lateral movement and workrate. I'm sure his lateral movement would be fine but his workrate could hurt us in the middle. But I guess it's worth a try, especially if we get Su'A this year.

good knowledgeable people are not interchangeable, they're a competitive advantage
