Rumours and Stuff

Why did Bellamy sign him if he was so shit? You can ask these dumb questions forever if you’re just interested in picking faults and other emotional posting styles. Ultimately a player is just a better fit in one roster than he is in another.
On Kenty's podcast the other day he told a story about Cooper Cronk and Matty Johns. Bellamy needed a halfback but didn't have any options so he selected three players he thought might be able to be trained into halfbacks, none of them were halfbacks, Cronk at the time had played centres, and shipped them all to Matty Johns.

Matty Johns then took them all though his drills whatever they were and came back to Bellamy selecting Cronk as the best of a middling trio, confirmed he's no half back but can be trained into providing the things Bellamy requires for Bellamy Ball (my own words).

Conclusion: Bellamy Ball has two facets 1) destroy the opposition play-the-ball 2) short ball pass to a man standing in an offside position. The 2nd facet is the role of the half.

You keep mentioning the 20 minute sample size. You do realise I have been watching him since SG Ball.

I genuinely dont understand what you people see in Joash. He constantly forces passes in attack that rarely ever work, he isn't as quick and athletic as he should be as a small bloke, and just never seems a chance to break the line.

Joash is a decent backup wont ever be a superstar.

The biggest mistake we made develop Blaize infront of Twidle. They had a good chance to develop Twidle as Gutho's replacement. But maybe it was lucky for us as we ended up with Iongi.

I'm convinced the NRL shelved the forward pass technology because someone with AI skills might be able to get it run through all the past NRL games and Scum would have every premiership taken off them.

Blaize wasn't a good defender with us either. See, there's these people called coaches...

Moses wasn't a good defended before coming to the Eels..

Is one one the best halves that can defend these days...

Defence can be taught. Just look at Apa's debut because of the situation made a try saving tackle putting his body on the line. Not many fullbacks make that tackle.

Take a hint Pou will chop and change his arguments just to argue with
People..

love the over-reaction from fans here and on social media like we’ve just lost the next Nathan Cleary.

Apa is a project player that MAY have first grade potential. If it wasn’t for all the injuries, he wouldn’t even be in New South Wales cup. Here’s a backup for the backups.

Yes, he has speed and some great footwork, but the rest of his game is mediocre or poor. He needs at least two seasons at cup level to hone his skills to see if he is a first grader.

A development contract for next year was the exact right deal for him for our Club. Perth desperate and have money, don’t blame the kid for taking it, but I’d be mighty pissed if we had tried to meet it to keep him

I think the problem is we're letting go of potential solid first graders and then we have to sign them for 600k per year. Clearly this goes against the Dev club philosophy.

Thats a lot wrong he would be in NSW cup.. But he is a backup in the same way Joash is a backup the diff is Joash is contracted for next year.

This isn't true. He was starting at 6 in cup to begin the year. If Volk was in the team, maybe he gets moved somewhre in the backline, but he would still be there.

He’s played what, six New South Wales cup games in his career? Not even a sample size to see if you might be a half decent cup player.

If he hadn’t of got a 20 minute spell due to us having 10 injuries, and scored two tries against a 12 man outfit where his opposing winger was off the field - no one would give a crap
