Why do you reckon we are tight for cap space next year?

Ava is ok, and he's a former Eel (Terepo's front row partner from U20s).

I think we have cap space, but a decent amount will be used to focus on re-signing Norman / peats (probably at least $1million needed there) along with any other player we want to keep (not that the remaining players a going to cost to much apart from maybe wicks).

So it was just in my opinion the club may try to chasing a cheaper option at prop to give us some more flexibility with the cap, rather pushing it the limit trying to sign a top level prop. We are also chasing Robbie Rochow.

We also don't have a fullback signed from next year apart from two rookies in Gutherson / French but Gordon probably won't cost a fortune to keep for another year.

Obviously a lot also depends on what happens to Watmough, if he retires we will have a decent amount available.

Half the squad is off contract next season, so I don't see cap space being a real issue.

Not really, only peats / Norman / wicks / Gordon are top 17 off contract, rest are playing NSW cup and are probably minimum contract or 2nd tier. Anyone top 25 on the minimum has to be replaced with another player on at least the minimum, so they don't really free up much cap space.

Jason Taylor will be absolutely filthy you'd think if he loses Cherrington and has Farah and Ballin on the books for around 1.3-1.4 million next year. Talk about 1 step forward 2 steps back with your cap mgmt...

As for Segeyaro, I've gone cold on him in the last year or so. If the whispers are true, it sounds like he's lost a bit of focus. He's a massive hog too, darting out of dummy half incessantly whenever his team get in attacking position. I think teams are awake to it now, or at least they should be. That's why I like Peats, he picks his moments to have a go from dummy half. I reckon if you did the stats on dummy half efforts close to the line and compared them, Peats' ratio of attempts to tries would be far more effective than Segeyaro's.

He does share a house with Corey Norman.

Since Farah has been back, they've lost every game

It must burn Taylor having to name him in the side every week. Forget all the talk about how they have started afresh and all is good. There is no way 2 egos in the same club who were at loggerheads are now hunky dory.

It is funny isn't it. ANd apparently he is on $1M a year (from a backended contract).
