I'm one one the few who rate bird.
Unfortunately age has caught up with him, or should I say his body is aging from previous injuries.
He'll get picked up by Salford imo.
It was a dumb signing. The fact that Flanno who he won a premiership with & formed a strong bond with didn’t want him was telling. He has been struggling for a no. of yrs yet for some inexplicable reason Richo signed the dud.I hope Hunt joins him on the 1 way flight to Nth England

If it winds up in court the financial records will be provided. Who knows what that will show he's giving Canterbury outside of the front of jumper sponsorship?
As long as we dont get any doggie defectors join the tigers and start some kinda war between factions on the hill. Flares, gas, banners galore. I can see it all now.
I hope they expose a corrupt club like Melbourne was running two contract books and it went way back that involved the Terry Lambs cheap shot on Ellery Hanley GF...then they get stripped of title and we get the cup :)

I've seen the best of Hunt and he is incredible when he pulls his finger out.
Unfortunately, whilst at the Tigers he been an absolute log.
I blame Benji somewhat. His inexperience shows in the way he talks to him and the way he's been sugar coated.
Have you seen Belly Ache ripping strips off Stefano Ute in an empty Storm dressing Shed after the Ute did some dumb stuff earlier in the game. He went absolutely berserk at Stef.
If Hunt was the perpetrator and Belly Ache was his coach I reckon we get a better player.
At the Sharks, Fitzgibbon was like Benji, too lovey dovey.
Aaron Payne apparently has it in him to sort out players and it was evident in two KOE games when I saw of Hunt terrorized the opposition, throwing them around, huge hit ups, charging from the back fence, off-loads and for 40min non stop.
He comes back into first grade and was given 15 min and did sfa.
For me, if we are out of finals contention, I would start with May and Hunt and tell them to go out there and smash them. Tell Hunt he's got 2 games to save his career or piss off!

Agree...Bellyache's approach gets results...but so does polar opposite Ivan's. Then we've got Madge...the more he tore strip's off our mob the⅗ worse we went. As you said Hunt should be told to lift his standards or feel free to keep playing reserves ir find somewhere else
I just think is he's the type of fwd that hides. He also shouldn't follow another big guy's hitup because if the ball carrier can't get an offload to Hunt then Hunt's run is wasted and its hard for him to get back and get ready to go again. This happens a lot these days because it makes it look like he trying to get involved but infact he misses a whole set, dies nothing.
Instead he should take the second or third hit up, looking at who is being dragged in and get ready to hit the same struggling defender who is struggling to reset into te D line, then windup and smash into them. This sets up the halves to do their magic.
He needs someone following him, running behind him like an assistant Tod Payten at training, to get into his ears. Constantly telling Hunt what to do in the next hitup, who to target and why. What shoulder to aim at. What to do at impact ie. lower body angle and drive his legs to engage more defenders or to hit hard, go to his knees and get a quick play the ball because our backs have sighted a weakness and they want quick ball. This usually requires a straighter hit up so your not easily turtled backed.
It's a bit of a science that bookends have lost these days and Payten was good at those things I've mentioned plus there's a lot more to it as well.
It not just a manner of carting the ball up and actually stuffing up momentum.

All good points!

I'm starting to get the feeling we have a big signing coming up.
Hunt and Bird on the way out it seems like we are clearing the decks to make a play for someone.
Hopes?

Apparently he is on a fortune. He isn't worth big dollars. He would provide us if he could get himself fit and firing though with exactly what we need.
We don't want another Hunt however big Nelson comes from a Belly Ache's tough regime, work ethics and disciplined outfit.
I think we would get that 20min a half solid middle effort that we are begging from Hunt to produce.
My concerns about a big bloke like Nelson is his knees. He has a big frame and his knees are already giving him some grief.
Oh I wish we got Horsey from the Raiders when we were chasing him. He would have been cheaper and is now becoming an incredible workhorse middle who has a few more strings to his bow than say Hunt or Nelson.

We dodged this bullet before when Stephano was leaving. Apparently Nelson is on $900k for another two seasons after this, with a mutual option the year after.

When you take into consideration that he's the wrong side of 30 next year as well, Richo would have to have rocks in his head to take this millstone off Bellamy's neck, let alone place it around Benji's neck.
