We could have had Koroisau last time as well as a bunch of other hookers who were on the market, but we turned our nose up at them all so we could have Harry Grant for a grand total of one season. Don’t get me wrong, I loved having Harry here and would love to have him back, but there was zero chance of him staying longer than one year and now that Smith is on the move, I can’t see Grant coming back any time soon.
Talk about short-term fixes. The other way to go would have been ( I know we weren't loaded at the time but ) to find one other gun/ semi gun for the spine from within the club or somewhere in the world, while Grant was here to give the harmlessly deceiving impression that we were a half decent destination club. Instead it was all Harry. Players kept their spots despite embarrassing games eg Kapaoa on the wing and everything would be alright because Harry was here.
And more of the same from here on?

Can’t believe that Koroisau would be heading down the M4 from Penrith. They have some dollars now from May getting the flick, even if it was small change, it could be split 2 or 3 ways. Why would Penrith split their spine?

More likely to be a rumour started by a manager to get more dollars and no doubt nothing will come of it or ever was going to come of it.

Raiders having the issue with Starling is another interesting one, I wouldn’t be surprised if Hodgson stays and he even plays a role more like the ‘the cheese’ simply so he can mentor the next guy.

Raiders and Tigers, both need the reported new 9’s from day 1 of the preseason, as each day goes by, I think it will be a case of the 3 9’s will stay where the are.

Just read on FB something from Pasco saying Amone has been released.

By my count that means we have 4 roster spots available, plus one more if we finally nut up and let Brooks go.

Seems sure we are going to get one of Hodgson or Koroisau. Where are these other magical players coming from? I think we are allowed one spare roster spot for the start of the year. So as it stands, we need three new players asap.
I am pretty sure 2 young blokes are coming up, Reece Hoffman and the other name escapes me? Maybe @Vic Mackey will know?

The talk now is (if you can believe it) Brooks and Liddle on the outer (are they the 2 who were bagging the coach?), so that would still leave 4, I think.

Getting Hodgson or Koroisau leaves 3 to get, if the numbers a right?

I think the other player was William Kei?

I prefer how they are targeting development squad young guns then say an experienced player who always seems like coming to the tigers is for a retirement fund. Our best players were Laurie, Stephano and Doueihi all brought over with potential. If we can repeat this along with the stand outs from our own KOE and Jersey Flegg teams it will be a more galvanized squad like Penrith has done. Playing with the same players coming through for 4 years straight makes you gel in attack quicker and attitude in defense better.

Even if we had the same team but somehow Munster became a bombshell signing I'm nor sure if 1 player like that will instantly fix us long term. Souffs(walker/reynolds/johnston), Penriff(cleary, luai, too) and manly(t/jurbo cherryevens) all at the top there superstars are just their own juniors this is what we need Sheens to find more then say TPJ or Josh Hodgson.

One player can make a difference (Turbo?) but I agree with your sentiment, it just means it will take longer, which will seem like forever😅😂
