Rumours (signings, sackings & other NRL stuff)

It was a rush tasting victory which we couldn’t swallow.

Of course we punt our most innovative and inspiring coach since Cleary.

Get the old boys together to put their snouts into the trough, piss on our backs and tell us it’s raining.

I hope he goes to SGI and wins the flag.

Why would we keep Gardiner when Benji and Robbie are the new assistant coaches. I think we should be trying to mould Gardiner into a head coach but if we aren't going to why would you keep him around ?
I hope he goes to Penrith and has great success, the league needs more good coaches.
They could have offered him the reserve grade job again even if it was for 2 seasons. Working day to day with Sheens and Marshall, let Sheens mentor both of them. Let Marshall learn from 2 coaches.

Have the reserves playing the same brand of attacking football, have the attacking and defensive coaches working with both teams, after all, there’s 30+ guys training together, all year round. oh wait, that’s what the Panthers do, it couldn’t happen at Concord.

I heard someone saying (WT podcast?) that Gardiner had quit his teaching job for full time coaching as a WT first grade assistant coach and didnt want to go back to reserves. I agree though, it would have been ideal to have him skilling up and getting the reserve side firing and being the proper stepping stone to NRL opportunities.

Word is Nofo is heading to the Storm for the remainder of the season.
No great loss as he has been under performing and acting like a tool of the field. He will kill it at the Storm , and therefore show us all he hasnt been putting in 100% here.
At least we’ve got Kapaoa as a replacement .. nothing like a dumb winger who ran away from where the ball was going to land, straight into the path of Feldt..WITH THE REF WATCHING LIKE A HAWK!! Oh but he was running towards the ball in the sky some say…Oh yes of course, Kepaoa thought -

“I’ll just jump 30 metres upwards and catch the ball in the sky and then we will win…Oh hang on Nah!! I can’t do that. So I’ll turn right to where the ball will land”

As Kent says no situational awareness. There was no way Feldt was going to make it to Laurie in time. AND a quick left sideways glance from Kapaoa before he left the sideline and then Welcome to the dumbest act, causing the second most disappointing loss in history of WT.
At least Kapaoa isn’t cocky like Nofo tho..No dark skinned arrogance allowed in this team. That’s unpardonable. (no more outrageous than your claims) ..

Anyone notice Toa coming out of the line to concede a try. No one?

I’m trying to find anyone else that has trouble with Nofo running sideways..on TV newspapers etc. Give me some more time. There’s got to be someone..

This will be the highlight of Nofos career. The storm might win now. Why would he come back. No one at WT can handle arrogance or super confident players. . Ballamy does that for breakfast. That's why they win and will keep winning..

I think only you and Kent agree that he deliberately ran at Feldt?

I can't see Gardiner looking to go back to reserves and how many assistant coaches do we need,
With Brooks out it will be Interesting to see what we do with AD and Jacko. Even if Brooks could come back after 4 weeks, I see no point in him doing so.

Brooksy is the only player ever to be considered as an “old boy” before his actual career is over.

As long as he steers clear of any actual experience or training, he’s odd on for the coaching role after Benji is sacked in the middle of his first season.

Brooksys had an awesome career holiday in the nrl, not his entire fault, he’s had rubbish all around him for most of it, but ffs half his luck.

Brooks will go to another club and absolutely smash it. I could see him doing well at NQLD or Melbourne. He’d be the one to send to Melbourne now, he went ok with Harry Grant feeding him , they’re a fullback down could throw Hughes to fullback. Although I heard some talk on fox that Luke could be gone for a few weeks

The purge of the ladder bottom feeders of good players, seems more pronounced this season.

Im just hoping we aren’t stuck with a large bill for offloading him.

I don’t like his big money for services provided, but at the same time, it would be interesting to see how he plays with marquee.

The Panther effect.

If he leaves, no tears or regrets but I wish him the best and hope he can get his mojo back.

He’s a controversial figure, but all said and done, some respect and mercy seems apt.

I genuinely want to see Brooks succeed. If that means at another club then the best if luck to him. However if we are letting him go early the we need to get something out of it. We already have a lot of cap space yet haven't heard a shred of news about any new signings apart from Woods and Brown....

Jim we have Api and Papaili as well next year.

We have a logjam of halves coming off contract next year as well. I think all four of them can talk with other clubs Nov 1st.

If we get Api, Papa, Woods, Brown and Stains thats five.

We only have Kei, Madden, Roberts, Tamaou and Talau off contract this year and the club seems to rate Talau so I dare say he will be retained.

Nofo, Saggitarian - Rooster (swordfish)
Bellamy is also a Saggi
Both communicators, optimistic. They should get on fine..
But yes the Rooster does come with some arrogance and cockiness

I think Woods and Brown are reserve graders though. I mean you need some depth at prop but I don't rate them. Staines is quick and could potentially take either wing spot. He is also a great backup for Laurie at fullback. I hope we get him.

Api and Papa are great signings.

I think Tumeth is meant to be signing with us and he is an edge backrower. That is the area where we are really short.

If the Hastings at 13 experiment comes off maybe the team will click. Our squad does seem to be improving.

What do you think of Nofo going and appearing to have an attitude problem ?
Read the link above about the swordfish(nofo, sagitarian- Rooster) that's prob got a bit to do with it.

I can imagine during the post serious concussion period that nofo went through, there could easily have been something where he slipped up, maybe because of his headache or whatever symptoms (these are some nasty nasty symptoms) that made him not attend some event, training, or he was late or whatever. I could easily see the club over reacting and treating him like an everyday player instead of one of the greatest players the club has had. We have all had situations where we get in trouble and we may have reacted because we thought we deserved better. Ego driven great players nead to be given some slack… Thats how all the great coaches of the great teams keep them performing at peak level… We havnt had many great players lately, so it’s not something that coaches at WT have had to deal with. Nofo is one of those and he was returning from a very serious concussion, 5 weeks out and he just wasn’t going to cop whatever was dished out to humiliate him, whatever it was. He deserved better. Probably.
