I don't trust our system. Knowing us, Makasini will be a flop, get injured, then when he comes good he'll agitate for a midyear release. (I do rate this kid but do you blame me for being hesitant)
We need someone like Manu or Gagai to show our slacko players and our youngsters how to compete at a high level and consistently get results.

Fafita is frustrating to watch, he's either a world beater or a lazy reggies player. We are the type of club that's not suited to players like him, Mitchell, and Cobbo. We've seen it all before.
Those sort of players need top players around them to get them involved.
I hope we get him and he's motivated to produce.

Totally agree re Fifita.I can’t believe people getting carried away with this fraud.When are we going to ever learn re recruiting judiciously.He would glaringly be a bad fit at Concord.Hes an unmotivated bludger who is blessed with a physique & innate ability that enables him to command big $ based on the hope he will give a fk & produce consistently.If Hasler can’t get the best out of him then Benji has buckleys.

Were not getting Haas Fifita and Manu. Salary cap alone makes that impossible. Now we have KPP, I would forget Fifita unless we can get him cheap. Samuela is fine on the other edge or Sukkar. My target would be Haas. I would go all in on it.

I don’t think Perth Bears are as much an attraction as one might think.. Apart from as a glorious place to live ofcourse. Mal for starters. Mr nice guy with a shitty nrl record you’d think would only attract the Fafitas of the world or players ready for retirement and offered overs and be able to coast if need be. Starting from scratch is so difficult and without a proven nrl coach exorbitant money will need to be thrown around, to attract the cream leaving scraps for more than a few, eg $1.5mil offer for Hass (declined) …& in the early stages, the players who would like to see who else is in the team as a good or bad thing, havnt got that luxury..

KPP is a gun, Newcastle aren’t functioning well at all, I don’t know if it’s O’Briens coaching stifling them or the halves changing around all the time but their attack has been on a leash. I think KPP will really suit the Tigers attack. I’ve seen some good things from our attack this year especially from our own end, we need to be more judicious with the early spread but it has worked for us at times. The biggest problem I see with our attack is the loss of structure when we are in the oppositions 30, there are times when we throw good shapes at them but other times we’re just a rabble of blokes running across field, pushing our outside backs to the sideline etc, we fix that and keep 13 on the field we can be a half decent side and I think KPP will open up some good attacking ops. Our mids need to be impenetrable between the two 20’s in defence, they have little lapses at times and it really gives the other side a roll on.

Obrien seems a pretty stressed out dude.. any team with Hastings in it will be difficult.. long way from home

I know it is super league but he was an offloading machine in SL.

I think you're right regarding APB. Ponga a perfect example of a gifted attacking player going backwards under his coaching.

Word is from my Newcastle mates that the team are under instructions play an extreemly conservative game plan which could account for what they've produced this year in attack.

It's being reported in the SMH as well. If he comes back and he is ready to go and he can replace Doueihi and give us a threat out wide it'd be huge.

He made some wild comments shortly after his court case was dropped and I was worried abut how disruptive he might be to the team but given he has spent some time in a mental hospital I have changed my mind.

For him choosing to seek help is a really good sign. I think his brother will be a great support for him and will be right there to offer guidance.

We all know we desperately need a quality center and going on his previous form he could be great for us. If it doesn't work out being on a train and play deal will be no big deal to terminate. A train and play deal is best for him at the moment because it means less pressure. He can take his time in the lower grades until he is ready and no high expectations that go with big bucks contracts.

Definitively a win win situation.

Souths apparently offered him the same train and trial deal as the WT but he prefers the tigers due to wanting to play with his brother, hopefully he can make the most of it as he is a lot better than some of our current outside backs in the top 30.

With the right mindset the kid is representative quality, has all the skills and is pretty good on the toe, his biggest challenge will be coping with the head noise, best of the three of them football wise. Really gifted
