Ok, for the sake of sanity, I've brought together all the teams who are competing for positions 6-8 and their draws, it makes for interesting reading and we certainly haven't got the hardest draw in the run to the semi's!

Well there it is!

Looking at it, it seems like North Queensland will probably win 4 games (25), and the Raiders will win 4 or 5 and the bye! (30-32)

Newcastle is goooone - at best they'll win 4 and lose 4, putting them on 26
Same for the Sharks [who have a REALLY tough draw!] - at best they win 2 games + bye - 26 points

Dragons probably win 4 + bye putting them in on 30 points

Penrith are really struggling, but they'll get Gower back and probably only need 2 wins to make the eight anyway...

So our main task is to beat Nth Queensland and get ahead of them, and to keep winning! I think we can lose 2 games and still make the 8 (just not the Nth Qld or Cronulla game) - and we are really chasing Cronulla down for that 8th spot!

Didn't realise the Sharks have such a tough run. We'll be playing them on the back of four losses I reckon.

Yep....exactly as I have suspected all along....Canberra and us to fill the last 2 spots....potentially we would play the Roosters twice in a row at the same field.

I think Newcastle have the easiest run home, would not surprise me to see em finish 7th or 8th. And where are Wests? They are on equal points with us and surely deserve to not be written off after their start to the season, even if they are slipping now.

IF we can keep away from injury and suspension, play the way we did against Roosters and slowly get our best players back on the field, there is no reason we can't be a serious threat. In fact, my fingers are crossed that we can pull off what the Roosters did in 2002, with a slow start and a huge finish.

Big IF though.

It is a big IF however the run this year seems much more realistic than last year's botched attempt provided we win the games we should.....

If we do make the semis and we play like we did V roosters I dont see why we couldnt give a team like the roosters or broncos a shake. We have beaten those 2 teams already this year.

We'll kick the arse of whom ever we have to play first up and give the other finalists something to be worried about.

Then we'll lose in the GF.

Give guys like Witt and Mckinnon some valuable finals experience for next year. :D

Having said that, our problem all year has been losing games that we should have won. I'll need a couple more performances like last saturday to be convinced that we have a chance of appearing in the finals

Probably need 28 to sneak in...

Take out the Cowboys, Tigers, Warriors ( all teams below us ) :)
Got a BYE up our sleeve... :D

Crunch games against Sharks and Panthers ( win one, lose one ) :?

All hell to break loose when we stuff Fittlers final home game for the Roosters 8)

Im still pretty confident that we will make the 8 and play the bulldogs in the first game in the finals.

Melbourne away will be tough, and so will roosters, and Cronulla as they have the BYE the next week so they will be going all out, but other then that i can see you winning the rest.
Though it depends if Penrith have come to form

Must win against Cowboys, Tigers and Storm to be in the race and build momentum. Then after the bye, two out of four wins would see us on 28, knocking off the Panthers or Roosters would see us on 30.

But we must take it week by week and win each of the next three games for mine. It was the Melbourne away game that snuffed us out last year - how good would it be to turn that around and use that game as our springboard this year?

I said it weeks ago we are too low on the ladder than what we should be. 3 more wins and we would be in the 8 and really competing. The loss against the Sharks at home was the turning point and considering the way it has panned out it could be the end of our chances at the finals.
