Since the advent of the rugby league forum the discussion of how wronged france were by the rugby union & french government has been brought up several times.
I have one thought may well be bold but how about getting of our arses are doing something that is BUYING RU WORLD CUP FINAL TICKETS & PROTESTING, that is running onto ground & protesting the wrong doing.
The french government nor the union would want it.
Simply put it would make a impact, & get prudes off there arses everyone knows the ffr13 was wronged this is a way to say get f**ked.

hmm running onto the ground may bring bad press to the FFR13, but if you made a sign the size of the dragons jersey that goes dragons games with something on that? that way you'd get attention to it..

A drop in the bucket against how much is still owed to French league.

As maybe, it is also totally irrelavant when he is asking for people to buy tickets to the final and protest... he has made a suggestion without reseaching just how it is possible.

Have the palpitations stopped yet?

The irony of someone pointing out France's disgraceful rugby union heritage at that sport's major event is quite amusing to reflect on...

I'm sympathetic to your motivations, but I don't think BUYING tickets to the yawnion wc final is the way to go. After all, this would only be putting money into the coffers of the iyb. I feel it would be better to protest outside venues where the French yawnion team is playing. And since the yawnion wc is being played in France, I won't be going :)

I think there is an opportunity next year, when the Rugby League World Cup is on here in Australia. When France are playing we could highlight the injustices perpetrated by the quinzistes  against Rugby League, to both the attending Rugby League World Cup fans, and the wider television viewing audience. I think that some appropriately worded (in French and English) banners and signs would be a good way of getting the message across. I think we need to educate the general Rugby League fan about this injustice, as much as we need to educate the wider viewing public.

Vive le Treize.

How about getting on with Rugby League and forgetting them?

Nothing will ever come of this, but getting behind Rugby XIII in France is the first step in rectifying all the past problems.

The horse has bolted with this, but that doesn't have to stop RL going forward in France.

I'm sure the more Catalans and France itself gets more competitive, people will start following the game, once they get involved, there are plenty of people who will let them know what happened, then it's up to them how they deal with what happened.

The way we can help is by buying French and Catalan merchandise, watching them when they are on TV out here in the SL, Watching and attending any matches played here there and in England (the poms are doing their job with traveling fans to Perpignan) and spreading their name when ever you get talking to people about Rugby League.

Funny thing I heard the other night when I was listening to the CC game between Catalans and Whitehaven, they had people from Australia, Canada, China, France and Eastern European countries sending in Emails and texts, they then mentioned an Aussie site getting behind the Dragons and French RL.

They didn't mention the sites name, but this would be the only one in Australia giving French RL in general some much needed promotion.

As you can see, the things we really want are already starting to happen, the more we talk and post about French RL, the sooner they will be fully recognised by their own media.

True.

There also needs to be proper recognition of what has happened in the past. This has still not occurred. You feel this when you speak with real French rugby league people.

You are right.

I think having a go at union during it's VWC doesn't do us any good at all, it'll make all RL fans out to be psychotic, leave that sort of thing to the people in charge of the game, they know what happened and I'm sure they haven't forgot.

The more the game over there grows, the more questions people will ask, like "where's this game been all my life?"

How long has it been played here?

Who else plays it?

Why has this code never been promoted?

And more.

If they want the answers, they'll find them, if they don't care and just love the game, good stuff.

The propaganda war the Vichies have been using against Rugby X111 over there for years is just about over, the media are slowly coming around, Vichy know this, they know Rugby X111's hands have just been untied and they are getting worried.

And why wouldn't they worry, the last time Rugby X111 had it's arms fully functional, look what happened, they caught up and overtook them in no time.

Let their own vicious tongues and backstabbing catch up to them, these days with the net and other media outlets, what ever sleazy, low down, manipulative and illegal BS they try, there are millions of people all over the world who can find out over night.

They'll slip up, it's in their blood!

(That's whats good about the Internet, I never knew of Vichy = Union until I got it)

You and your yawnion loving mates would love this skeleton to go away wouldn't you.

any excuse to talk about union for little sammy.

hardly anyone knows or cares about the issue, it's time to move on- everyone else has. efforts should be made in terms pushing rl in france on its own merits.

but of course, that doesn't fit in with little sammy's bleating agenda

Quite disagree. Lots of people know, lots of people care, and the rah rahs would like nothing better than this episode in history to be forgotten about. It's part of our heritage and we should protect it.
