That's so wrong on so many levels. As if the world operates like that: what happened in hte past should be forgotten and stay in the past!! Grow up, that's not how it happens in the real world.

And how is it not protecting our heritage. Part of league's heritage is the institutionalised victimisation from RU, and no where has that been more pronounced than in France, so ipso facto not forgetting about the treizistes torrid past is indeed protecting our heritage.

You were banned for abusing an admin... nothing to do with me... you were let back in ONLY because the moderator YOU cried to said you could make a positive contribution to the international forum... since then by far, most of your posts have been in the fight club OR as in this case abusing others and hijacking threads... just like you did in this thread...

Quite disagree. Lots of people know, lots of people care, and the rah rahs would like nothing better than this episode in history to be forgotten about. It's part of our heritage and we should protect it.

Undoubtedly, but is paying hundreds of dollars for a ticket, if you can find one to buy, then trying to storm the pitch the best way to bring it to light? with the amount of security they will have in place is unlikely they would make the pitch anyway...

Taking the moral high ground involves acting lawfully, banners outside the final, getting infront of the international press LAWFULLY, that will do more good then a footnote in a story about some idiot "fan" who tried unsuccessfully to storm the pitch... Using next years RLWC has already been suggested... the international press will be looking for League related stories... an organised group of fans trying to bring past injustices to light will win more hearts and minds then "terrorist" type activities... you are in Australia not the middle east.

I believe the best opportunity to enlightening the public on this issue will be the RLWC in Oz. In the lead up to the RLWC, I would like to see some TV ads that give a few highlights and history of RL in each of the competing nations.

For example, if Wales make the cup, some old WC highlights, a few fade-ins on Welsh greats such as Davies/Sullivan etc followed up by a few WC2000 highlights and some highlights of there key players in action.

Of course there will be a short ad that focusses on France. This is where we present the issue as part of an historical account not a whinge. The voiceover will just need to explain how RL thrived in France until WW2 until it was banned by government decree under the influence of shady RU aligned members of the puppet Regime. Then explain how RL in France rose from the ashes to hold the first "rugby" World cup in 1954. COntinue with something like "still without it's stadia, money and other assets seized in WW2, RL battled on, retaining a large number of passionate players and fans etc etc". you get the idea! The article could finish off with a quick blurb on the success of Catalans and a few quick highlights from a Catalans or French elite game.

I beleive we would be better off lobbying with the ARL to push for these types of Ads in the lead up to the RLWC, and then push for this type of content to be included in the French ad. It could even be incorporated into a "history of the RLWC" type of ad.

I believe this would open alot of peoples eyes to the issue in an informative and mature manner.

No, that's a stupid idea. I never agreed with it in the first place. But if someone did it at the RUWC final I'd bloody well cheer and raise a glass to them as heroes of RL....

Any move not harming another person should be applauded.

Streakers and people invading playing fields are hardly new. This is only a variation on that theme.

I imagine a concerted campaign would like to use every available tactic... ;-)

over 20 years playing League for Randwick, Marist Northern, Parramatta… 8 years coaching Junior league while my son played… organising committee for 12 years with Randwick, fund raising and running the club… that’s just for starters.. ALL a matter of public record… all you have to do is look… Now what are YOUR “your positive rugby league contributions”? other than being a keyboard hero?
