Ah my bad, read your post wrong. I agree, anyone would be better.
I honestly feel bad for him once I’ve cooled down after watching play each week. He just isn’t up First Grade and if we persist with our season will quickly go down the drain.

You really shouldn’t ever pin any hopes on us.

We cant really do anything right, including running onto the field without getting injured apparently lol.

Lol.

Sounds like us.

But this whole Bulldog schtick kind of sucks.

The only fan base that has to be strip searched and have to go through a metal detector before they are allowed in the ground.

90 years of sociopaths and inbreeding.

lol yep I much preferred them when they were losing and a lot of them disappeared.

Credit to them they’ve started the season well. Not sure how they’ll go though when the whips are cracking against the top sides if a few of them get there acts together. I feel like they should have scored a lot more points tonight in the midst of the clusterf**k of issues that were going on on our end.

Early congrats on your win next week by the way. Even if we’re able to field a team I can’t see it going well.

We’re bad because we play a boring, overly safe style of footy, and also we play too expansively and take too many risks, leading to too many errors. We should be focusing more on completions at this time of year, just hold the ball and kick to the corners, but also don’t do that because it’s overly conservative football which doesn’t win you games, even when teams play like that and do win. But really we need to play a more up tempo style, with offloads and second phase play - we simply don’t offload the ball as much as other teams, even though we average more offloads per game than all of them.

At the end of the day though AOB isn’t out there making all those errors. But also, every one of them is 100% his fault due to his boring as batshit overly risky completion-focused error-ridden tactics.

Exactly. We always hit it one up. Opposition know it's coming and just smash us. They know we aren't going to offload so it's easy to smash us.

Let's get the ball one or two wide of the ruck. Or switch directions or something. Still don't challenge kicks.

People keep saying there is no one to replace AOB with. We literally have the best candidate in the coaching box next to AOB every game. Hell give Brad Arthur a go.

Ten years ago we didn't have the team on paper to do much but we have a good team now.

In the running for the worst spine in the comp.

Cogger and a kid 15 games into his NRL career (and 3 in the halves) + a hooker with a ways to go before he enters the top 8 in his position . (either of them)

No point owning a formula 1 if there's no one that knows how to drive it.

I think you might have missed HarVeeGee’s point lol and it’s a good one.

AOB can’t win: we try and play too expensive and we make too many errors he’s at fault, we try and play too conservative in attack to reduce errors he’s at fault.

Do you think any other coach would do any better when the players drop the ball 16 times a game?

Last night’s result was no indication of the game. We forced errors out of that side in defence. Physically we matched them all night. It’s just their system is bordering on near perfect. Ciraldo has flipped the script. Their attack is when they do not have the ball. They score off the scraps of what is left of you.

They are rats with gold teeth

As for next round, who knows.

Seems like forward passes are all the rage at the moment. Officials can no longer identify whether a pass isforward or backward. I guess that was inevitable under PV.

My count of injured players across the game is about 80.

The good news for both of us is that the comp is still madness. The traditionally powerful clubs, many of them look rooted.

I know it's still early but all those people who were against sacking AOB and bringing in Ciraldo, Madge, Flanno or Des, you guys still thinking it was the right call?

I still think back to that ten games in a row run. It was magical but if we hadn't won all them games and sacked AOB, maybe we would have Ciraldo?

My spies in the bulldog camp are giving a lot of the credit to Jason Taylor.

I’m adding BA to your esteemed list!

I haven’t been a member of this forum for long but the only one I recall being discussed and a lot of people being against it was Des, and I stand by that.

His and Flanno’s sides finished below us last year lol.

I wanted des at wt, now I’m on the Brad Arthur @Bandwagon

Brad had the eels pumping for awhile there.

He puts players in their places.

AOB is also one of my fave coaches, he has a good mind for the game and comes across well.

Poor Benji is functionally illiterate, doesn’t tell us much.

I low key rate BA too.

I’m happy to give AOB until next year when we have more quality in the spine (through Brown signing and Sharpe getting more experience) as I’m not sure many other coaches could have gotten our current squad to the finals as much as he has…if he can’t get us to another level though with a better roster I’d happily have a play at BA.

I initially wanted Flanno but he hasn’t been able to do much with the Dragons so far.

I think flanno is a good coach too, he just hasn’t had the roster and all kinds of troubles with certain arrogant and precious players.

Their results this year, they’ve had no luck and close losses.

The whispers are that Lomax wants back into the dragons.

The question mark I have about Flanno is his obsession with veteran players. Guys he knows are reliable & consistent with their standards, and who’ll make better decisions on the field. Guys he doesn’t have to coach all that much…

Shouldn’t a coach want to coach though? And yeah give me a starting lineup of 17 grizzled vets in their 30’s, guys like Gutho, Cook, maybe throw in Jamal Fogarty at 7, and yes I suspect I could also get them training well & putting in most weeks… by doing nothing.
