See your perspective DD, but loved the on-field image of Saints that he created during his tenure with us: tough, resilient disciplined and successful! We were like that when he was coming through as a youngster /player in Queensland and for a short period we resembled that again.

given what Flano inherited it is fair to say now that he is doing a reasonable job dont you think.

given what he has managed to get out of this squad, he should have his contract extended to 2030.

I'm in favour of closing the thread. I know it was created in jest.

There's only one facet of the club that shouldn't be called into question and that is the current head coach. I bet he wishes he had some more decent players.

He said what us fans have been saying for years not good enough players like Ben hunt 1 million dollar player and captain has cost us for years spitting the dummy and wanting to leave .

Facts are if we lose next week we will finish probably 13th maybe 12th with pd of minimum over -150
in Hooks first year 2022 we finished 10th with a -100
We have had the absolute softest draw of any team this year.
People say we have improved but these are the facts.
I won’t start on other areas but our current recruitment results are diabolical and very poor.

I agree. Flanno has so many roadblocks against him, none more obvious as a dysfunctional corporate structure well documented here but clothed in secrecy. A lesser man would give up and walk away. We have a long way to go

Hunt must give SOO away if he is staying in '25. I'm not keen on an extension.

Agree , however I would feel happier if he went elsewhere , preferably as quickly as possible .

But the chances are he won’t go anywhere , the money is too damn good and I couldn’t see him donating any of it to the Salvos nor for that matter to another club .

Wade Graham and ex-Flanno player said on radio that Saints fans have a lot to look forward to. His first season under Flanno they missed the 8 but then on were playing finals. It's all about building mental toughness and buying into Flanno's game and in 1 off season was a bit of a stretch but we did see it in games like the full strength Storm game. THey were awesome in that one. Unfortunately bad in the rest that followed. Hopefully next season it will be more consistent as Flanno will fluch out most of the deadwood.

Wayne Graham at his best is the sort of player we need. A thinker! He provided a lot of direction and value for Cronulla during certain pressure situations in the game. We don’t or haven’t had that type since Jeremy Smith.

Oh for a player in the Jeremy Smith mould, whenever he was playing I was confident.
