Agree mate , but I , my opinion only , that Hunt was not happy to move to 9 , and first opportunity Hook got he shafted Sully ...... Would have been better to have Sully come back on at 9 than Mybe ......

was interested in the scenes in particular in the sheds prior ...
the place was like a morgue
very little eye to eye , and little or no chat or gee up
the coach looked clueless in the pre match interview
the Sullivan drama was surely the final straw
The Chairman or CEO should be on hand at Mascot upon plane arrival and give Hook the DCM
there is obviously a three way divide between Captain , player and Coach
stories still abound re the divide on the Board..Steelers/Dragons
If this cant be resolved its time for a complete split
If Illawarra can survive on their own good luck
Would love to see the Dragons partner up with Perth or Brisbane franchise
The 13 "home" games would be split , like they are now
We must resolve and move on or we will perish like Newtown, the Bears and others

The problem with that is that Doust agreed to handing over the licence to WIN as part of them buying the Steelers portion. I understand that was one of the reasons the agreement took so long to get done. Previously the licence had remained with the St George RLFC.

All I can say is that Griffin is a load of smelly bullshit. His reason for not putting on Sullivan after he served the 10 minutes in the sin bin was utter garbage and contempt and straight out lie.

Sullivan was the victim. He was in a combined tackle with Sloan on Feldt and it got all tangled up and the bloody ref made the wrong call to sin bin Sulli. Hook should have shown so much more faith in Sullivan and put him on with the aim of doing more of the attack. They scored 3 tries when Sulli was binned. We needed to score 3 tries to catch up. We didn't have to bring in Mbye to defend we needed Sulli to attack. What was the use of defending when we needed to score I ask you all?

You make some excellent points, and some of hook's decisions are baffling. However, I now picture Hook as the guy below, with the gun of course. Buggs would make a great coach!

Suddenly, his decisions are much more understandable.

Because Hunt 7/Mbye 9 is a weaker team than Sullivan 7/Hunt 9 but Hunt has made no secret of his preference for playing 7.

So regardless of what's best for the team, Hook gives Hunt what he wants - particularly in his milestone game.

Hook may have made the call but it's unfathomable that he did so without - at least subconsciously - acknowledging Hunt's much-publicised preference.

Hunt has publicly and repeatedly said he ‘doesn’t want’ to play 9. No consideration of what might be best for the team.

It has been obvious for years that 9 is his best position. It has also been obvious that Sullivan needs to play more and is the future half.

I agree that these decisions are Griffin’s. But Hunt is not a powerless bystander. He’s a $1m player and leader who has decided he wants to be ‘the halfback’ rather than do what is best for the team.

Regardless of what happens, the only thing I can see happening in the future is Hunt making a move to the chooks. He ain’t going to play hooker under Hook and any new coach would not want to lose Bud. Solution is to f**k off Amone otherwise the Chooks beckon. With both Walker and Smith on the outer funds could be freed for a 2 year stint, ala Cronk.
