Some points re: Latimore:

1. McGregor was always going to pick him from round one onwards.

2. he has been given more opportunities compared to his first stint at the Club, and has justified that faith.

3. for a big bloke, Latimore, frustratingly doesn't bend opposition defensive lines, however he has a relatively quick play-the-ball.

4. provided a commensurate stipend can be forked out and doesn't come at the expense of a quality prop/second rower, I wouldn't be against his retention for 2019.

I want to see Latimore bust the line and make a few line breaks. lol although I am not holding my breath.

Name a prop that does regularly bust the line and make breaks, that doesn’t seem to be a props job anymore, more to bend the line and get quick play the balls.
Latimore has been doing exactly that in the last few weeks.

I don’t know who Mc Fookknuckles is but I do believe to your point or coach Mcgregor couldn’t have played Host early season as he was injured.. just like you mentioned.

Host is an edge back rower so his value is better off starting than on the bench. Latimore is an out and out prop and is more suited for those impact minutes in the middle.

Unfortunately for Host, Sims has killed it when given the shot to replace Thommo and has become an Origin player. Unless something drastic happens, Sims is our starting left edge backrower for the foreseeable future.

Host needs to play out of his skin now to beat him out or provide impact to be that 3rd forward off the bench.

He had some nice touches on the weekend so perhaps he can be that 3rd bench forward, fighting out with Sele, Luc and Lawrie.
