Well most here would except the usual black hats..Just can't see us winning this year with McGroan at 7.
Pretty right with your assessment.
Maybe McCrone will pull out for 4/5 weeks and let Mann do his thing.

Sort of feel for the guy though, it ISN'T his fault he is chosen, and he is doing HIS best for us week after week.

Thanks for your efforts and hard work Josh, but can you let us see how Mann goes for a few weeks.....please?

Third on the ladder this far into the season, Mary talking some sense in the press conference. Think it might be time to close this old thread down!

Winning feels good no doubt, but I am warming to this guy.

This thread has lost its fizz. Cmon haters! Where are you now? You can do better than this! Are you going to stand by and watch Mary be a successful coach? Cmon, fire up and get the sack McGregor thread back to at least 10 posts a day!

Considering what the McGregor family is going through at the moment is there really any need for this

It was sarcasm.
I was on another thread and was frustrated at people still criticising McGregor. I think he is doing a great job. The sack McGregor thread used to be the most active and I am very happy that it barely has a pulse now.

If we really knew who was available at what price to come to our club maybe the thread would reactivate.
I for one firmly believe that there are far batter coaches out there than Mary and would try to get them if it was at all possible.
Trouble is no one really knows.
One thing I suspect is that despite how well we are actually going, under the guidance of a few other coaches we could be going even better.
Mary to his credit has done much better this year but IMO there is still a lot of unlocked potential in the team and I am not sure he can actually unlock it let alone tap into it.

The biggest concern is our second halves. We can be dominating at half time but seem to get the wobbles most games. McGregor has to do something about that but he seems to have us ready, players are competing with high standards at the start of each game.

OT,
Its a bit rough to say that under a better coach we could be achieving more given where we are at the moment.
There are some pretty good coaches that have pretty solid rosters doing much worse.
Rabbits, Dogs, Penrith to name a few.
There have been calls for some of these coaches to come to dragons by fans and I just don't get that. Just because they have won premierships in their careers doesn't necessarily mean that they would be great coaches of our club.
McGregor is doing a great job and seems to be improving with selections etc.
He'll get his extension this week, Mickeylane told me so!

Mary should be able to see our weakness and positives this far into the season.
It is obvious that McCrone is not the answer to the problem with kicking and we are lacking any player with speed.
Dugan against the tigers made a line break but was run down very easily. Don't blame Dugan because he stops so many tries.
Mary should try and developed a game plan to use Field or Dufty off the bench and give them time in first grade. These two players have the speed to turn any game around

Bellamy, Robertson and Flanagan would have our side going better than we are and would have made some hard calls to get the improvement out of them.
I am positive that if any of those 3 were coaching they would have created the correct environment so that Luc, Field and Dufty would have seen some quality 1st grade time.
Their innovation, skills and belief in themselves enables young players to feed of it.
Not sure Mc Fookknuckle has the same self belief and he is so desperate not to create any potential criticism he is a total conservative.
Maybe if he gets a 3 year extension in the next week or so he might then have the belief but I still think he will err on the side of the 140 game veteran style of player instead of youth.
It will be very interesting to see what he does against Newcastle as in reality where we sit and our F/A should mean he can experiment with complete safety.
If he doesn't do it then, then we will know for sure if the shit hits the fan we have no logical plan B and we will fly by the seat of our pants.

Our coaching dilemma is nowhere on the level of the Dogs. All this talk of a strong front office is delivering them sh*t despite having Hasler who is talked about as the best in the business. Mind you I am very happy that's the case.

You know, I am so happy that I dont feel the same way as you do on the coach of our team, the one we both support. Calling him McFooknuckle. Its really disrespectful in my opinion although I am not trying to tell you how you can or cant address players or coaches so don't get me wrong.
I am just thankful that I don't feel that way. That I respect the coach enough not to call him by derogatory names.
Anyway, on the other coaches that you have mentioned, maybe they would have the dragons playing better but maybe they wouldn't. Its pure speculation and just an opinion after all.
I think that you are being extremely harsh on McGregor but you are entitled to your opinion and I get the impression that NOTHING is going to change your mind on this one.

To refer to our coach, who has us sitting 3rd and with two very unlucky losses, in such terms is pretty immature tbh.
To say Bellamy or Robertson or whoever would have us in a better position is just plain ridiculous.
