The real sad , sad point is , just how many among us , would had believed that Mary would had been resigned , at this time last year . The majority of us truly thought that he was gone at seasons end or possibly as an assistant coach to one of the our fancied rival coaches . Not to be , another 2 years of misery await us all , unless something dramatically changes at the Joint Venture .

This thread started exactly a year ago when we were trounced by Manly in Round 17. I looked back and noticed we've only won 1 Rnd 17 match in the last 7 years. Yet he were are still barking up the same old tree with the same old people. Bring back relegations.

I don't know...Price was pretty diabolical.
But that just underlines the ridiculous nature of McGregor's extension.

Don't kid yourself into thinking Doust & the Board give give 2 sh*ts about the fans. If they did he would have been out the door. You only have to look at the humiliation of Hasler to see the Dogs don't entertain failure even though with his record he has earnt the right to a lean year or 2. Our fallback are reviews, committees leading to a new contract well in advance of any great achievement & with no other club chasing him.

Imagine the old days - wish I had a time machine - I would go back 11 times to grand final day.

Loved my dads old stories. He went to all 11 with his steel esky full of Reschs and afterwards they would drive back to the leagues club and party with sticks Provan, Killer Kearney, Puff, Chook and co all night long.

Now we have a bunch of arrogant players who only care about payday and a C Board and CEO who are incompetent bumbling fools only focused on.::.wait... a their payday. And a coach nobody else would have signed in a Million years.

Can anyone tell me any positives McGregor has brought to the club besides his love & passion which I don't buy because imo there are supporters out there with just as much if not more.
He himself states that he leaves the recruitment etc to others. He continues to play players out of their preferred positions. Has no idea on how to use the bench. Fails to have a plan B or a succession plan for the future or in case of injuries. Has no ideas on managing his star players during rep season.
Can't identify the problems on the field & rectify them.
How the Fu** does he keep his job.

I think the problem is much deeper than Mary. The whole place needs a broom put through it. Mary is symptomatic of a board that has no idea how to turn things around and keep getting Rookie coaches in. Put a broom through the place, because that is our only hope for future success.

McGregor is a great illusionist. He has fooled so many in the rugby league community. Only the most avid Dragons fans who have an interest and history of following this club closely are not tricked by him. 3 from 9 wins does happen to clubs; clubs that have bought into mediocrity. Go back as far as you like. Before Price and McGregor, our board, our supporters would NEVER tolerate these incessant weakness and inadequacies. Suddenly, because we win the comp, it is ok. We will NEVER progress with him, and the board must fall upon their own sword.

You would think that is exactly what he would do , more so after 4 years of nothing and I mean nothing . The poor man is punching above his weight , his trying to the best of his ability , but as even blind Freddy can see , he simply does not have the nouse required to successfully coach a 1 st grade NRL team .

Hey getsmarty Bennett got rid of all the shit the first on list was our current coach because he offered a big fat zero. There was not a sound from Doust. And as everyone knows McGregor should not be associated with the club in any capacity.
