How many premierships has Mary won?? How many grand finals have his teams played in??How many finals appearances have Mary coached teams played in??
Have either Maguire or Hasler presided over a team that were top 4 only to them miss the semis??

Apart from winning Premierships (obvious difference) can someone please explain what McGregor's qualifications for coaching the St. George FG squad are?
3 Illawarra bush championships, 2 years coaching the Cutters (finished 8th one year and bombed out in the first week and 10th the following year)??
How can anyone support McGregor's appointment and subsequent extension?
There is nothing to support. The fans have been duped and the performances reflect that.

Ok then let me put this to you. If success starts at the top & the board is an immovable object, the next level down is the coach. What qualities in our coach do you see as the ones that will deliver us, at minimum, a Top 4 spot, at maximum, a premiership?? You know, things both Hasler & Madge have achieved.

I want a new coach as bad as everyone else does.

But not a coach who has been out of form for three years.

Haslers 7th placing in 2016 does not qulaify as being successful and this year he was terrible,

Madge has had 3 shocker years at soufs since 2014.

I dont trust them to miraculously return to coaching form.

Signing a new coach for 3 to 4 years, we must get it spot on, rather wait till the right one comes along than make another bad choice.

We have had 6 years of poor results from 2 coaches who have zero form. At this rate we are on track for another 2 years of unacceptably poor results.

Hasler and Madge have delivered success elsewhere despite a couple of lean years so the know how is there. Even Bennett has bounced back after an indifferent time at Newcastle

Ok then you agree that Mary and Price have not been the right choices . Right ? . So if you could have a coach who would you take ? My problem with Mary is we will waste another 2 years of nothing , then if the right coach does come along it will take another 3 years to establish his coaching structures . So the right coach might not come along for a few years yet by that time The once Mighty Saints could be struggling to stay afloat .... For me I cant wait to see , so any other coach than Mary will do me as they will change the coaching we have in place and rattle the boys club ....

I think you make an important point here.
Wasting another 2 years under McGregor's coaching structures and philosophy, is just wasting time and an opportunity with a roster that actually may be good enough to challenge for a title.
Look at Souths and Canterbury - they had absolutely no problem dumping high profile coaches in pursuit of better results.
McGregor should have been goooone at the end of the 2016 embarrassment because that simply highlighted the fact that he is not a FG coach.
He just isn't qualified and we lose games because of it..
As you say, any new coach will need time to establish a new philosophy.
Unfortunately, we have run out of time.

There are a lot of Juniors who will be ready for first grade next or the year after. We need a coach that will be able to oversee their transition through to first grade.
McIdiot does not have the skill to do this.
Look at Bellany with the first grade wingers. Who had heard of them, now great wingers.
Are we going to have the coach for two more years and risk the guns not getting a fair go.
