Thought I would back up my thoughts on Mary's achievements from Round 13 onwards to see results (last half of year say)
2014 - 7 out of 13 when he took over - 54% Best year
2015 - 4 out of 14 29%
2016 - 4 out of 12 33%
2017 - 5 out of 13 38%
2018 - 7 out of 14 50%
2019 - 2 out of 6 33%

Overall average 39.5%
Take out his caretaker 1st season it is 36.6% so far as official coach

Even if he won the next 7 out of 7 it would be 9 out of 13 this year = 69%

Overall average since his 1st game would only go up to 45.5%
But every game from now on he loses this year it gets lower and lower
These are the figures the most Journos and the club ignore most of them are talking about this season in isolation i.e JDB and injuries .
What the club and others have to remember is that every poor season is a lose of new supporters kids love winners if we go on like we are we will have lost a generations worth, something that could come home to bite them in the future through membership and attendance.

Be like us and just flog Kogarah like we do Leichhardt. Who doesn’t love a sunny Sunday afternoon at *insert suburban ground here*.

Works a charm

If they do manage to win some games at the back end of the season, that will be enough for them to salvage this disaster because they can point to that improvement and take credit for turning it around.
At the very least, McGregor's position will be safe and he can at least saddle up for next season without as much pressure.
That is their main aim now.
Winning 3 from 7 would be enough for them to hang their hat on.
I very much doubt we can win 3 from 7 tbh Dennis.....even the lower teams on the table look more committed than our bunch....and again if McGregor thinks Widdop will come back and bust his arse and his shoulder when theres almost Zero chance of scraping into the semis then hes a bigger fool than we know he is

Players take accountability following loss
St George Illawarra Dragons stars Corey Norman, Josh Kerr and Korbin Sims talk to the media following a heavy loss to the Panthers.

I'm still waiting for the Coach takes responsibility for the Loss video..........................
The box set of 150 post games press interviews with the highly credentialed Paul Mc Gregor is coming out as motivational DVD's, so perhaps you might be interested?
With every set you get a free copy of the Paul Mc Gregor "How to play musical chairs and win" DVD which includes a step by step tutorial on "how to throw everyone under the bus".

So we trot out two blokes who only joined the club this year and another who's played about four games to explain where we went wrong...

Jason Ryles is on the right path to possibly becoming our future coach, He currently under Bellamy as assistant, his next move should be to head off to the UK Super League and succeed over there as Head Coach.
IMHO this is the apprenticeship pathway to becoming a Future St George coach. The Appointments of Nathan Brown, Andrew Farrar, Steven Price and McGregor were done by a very unprofessional and incompetent management. We solute Peter Doust and Co!

Aiken/Lafai/Dufty etc...........just for starters
I guess we could add some forwards but if you take into consideration Frizz, Vaughan,JDB,Sims played origin and Graham is an international and McInness is going ok then he would argue that point...and the same for Hunt and Norman....now whether collectively they have improved under McGregor is another thing......I suppose that leaves Luc, Host and Lawrie....have they ????? ....not really when you consider how much they may have improved under a real coach....anyhow we can only hope someone gives him the boot asap......as for the war drums beating trust me they will end up fading to mini tom toms

I detest McGregor with a passion. Can’t coach, can’t develop players, can’t manager interchange etc
But I have wondered what players in the team who have been coached by proven good coaches think and indeed say.
Graham has been coached by Bennett and Hasler. Lafai by Hasler. Hunt by Bennett. Widdop by Bellamy and Bennett. McGuinnes by Maguire. Do these guys have input to game plans and the like ?

Well Spotted.
Given a script and told to be sincere.
Meaningless coming from them.
Take the heat off the Coach any way they can.
What is hard for me to fathom is why is McGregor such a protected species??
Why are so many people sticking their necks out for him?
It's certainly not his coaching credentials.

Dennis I can only think that the Gym needs a re-paint and possibly Dean Young & Hornby could be possibly worse. There is no other possible logic!

Maybe they sent out the guys they did because the blokes who've been around for a while have had enough of him.

I stated before B Johnston get on a plane to Melbourne and sign Jason Ryles

Has had the perfect training school and from what I hear does not take shit from anyone. Very strong minded bloke.

Mary do the honorable thing and hand in you resignation take a payout and don’t let the door hit you on the way out.

For gods sake which coach tells the players “I’ll be moved on and you guys will be moved on.”

Can see a Bellamy or Bennet saying that

NRL Six Again: Paul McGregor's days must be numbered

First tackle: McGregor's days are numbered

St George Illawarra Dragons coach Paul McGregor is in the middle of his sixth year at the helm of the famous club. He has had mixed results, winning 64 of the 131 games played and making the finals just twice in five years. He has certainly had enough time in the role to assemble a team that can best play to his coaching style.

The Dragons started the season with three wins from five games and, on the 18th of April, McGregor's contract was extended by two years. Since that decision the Dragons have won just three of 12 games and now sit in 14th position on the ladder, two points above the struggling Bulldogs. Bulldogs coach Dean Pay is having difficulties of his own, but much of those are due to a rebuilding phase which sees the club relying on rookies and fringe first graders. The Dragons are a team full of stars and should be doing so much better.

Jamie Soward wants full review into Dragons
Tellingly the Dragons have conceded more points -- 405 -- than any other team in the competition. It is a long held truism that defence is about attitude and no one controls the attitude of the team more than the coach. This week McGregor rested his million-dollar-man Ben Hunt, but refused to accept that move had anything to do with the loss.

Dragons players look dejected after a Panthers try. Matt King/Getty Images
"We had enough today, talent on that field, to win that game of footy," a solemn McGregor said after the game, when asked about Hunt.

"We didn't go close, so we've really got to own up to that performance to a man."

Melbourne Storm raised some eyebrows when they also rested Origin stars Cameron Munster, Will Chambers, Josh Addo-Carr and Felise Kaufusi on the weekend. The massive difference being that the Storm were six points clear at the top of the ladder and playing the last-placed Gold Coast Titans. The Dragons are battling to make the eight and were playing against the Panthers who are Top 4 aspirants.

It made no sense to rest their most expensive player. It is exactly the kind of move that would put any disgruntled player further offside with the way the team is being coached. It is hard to see McGregor surviving the axe much longer, despite his contract extension.

The board and the owners need to be reminded that the rugby league landscape is about to change. We have two fresh clubs starting up in a couple of years while the economy remains quiet and I can’t see a massive increase in the available sporting dollar.

The current clubs desperately need to shock proof themselves for the initial interest in the enforced competition ...and fans switching to new clubs.

The best way is through winning games, improving and changing.

Sgi seems to be the only club going the wrong way. It’s abysmal, you are the laughing stock of the game. No credibility at all.
