Sack the individual(s) who signed off on the extension.
My question is to them do they have that same confidence in Mary now that they did in April.
Would they give him the extra 2 years today.
Why wasn't there performance KPI metrics written into the extension.
Can we get more clarification from the Club.
One very frustrated, annoyed and disappointed passionate Dragons man I am.
It's that bad I don't even feel like a beer.
Thanks for wrecking two of my favourite things.

The person who signed off on the contract extension is a close friend of Paul McGregor. That's why they rushed it through early because they knew if it went pear shaped, as it has, it would be harder to extend him.
They don't really care about the results too much, as long as their mates are all getting paid and they enjoy working alongside people they know and are comfortable with.
Depressed much?
Tip, watch the cricket.

I saw Mary during the game and he was more agitated in the coaches box than I have ever seen him before. To me he looked like someone who just saw their last chance disappearing.

I am wondering whether he actually does have a performance clause in his contract. If this is the case the board would need to be careful that they weren't seen to have made up their minds about him until the results (or lack of) were beyond doubt.

I also find it strange to be changing the assistants and tapping so many players on the shoulder if there was a likelyhood that the coach may only have 6 weeks next year. These are actions that you would normally take if there was a change of coach happening otherwise, all it does is hamstrings anyone who may be taking over.

I know this is wishful thinking and I am not saying its fact or that I know anything but I have a suspicion that Mary may be gone and a new coach quietly lined up for when Mary misses his KPI's. My worry is that it would be someone that we may not be overly happy with.

All I heard was blah blah blah blah blah THEN “This is the first time in my coaching career I won’t be preparing for the semi finals “. This guy is a top notch FU#KWITT DELUXE

So he has literally scraped into the semis 2 out of 6 years but this is the first time he won't be preparing for finals footy?!

Simple solution don't go to the games, don't watch them , don't pay your membership, the better they fold as true Champions of Rugby League the better Memories.

Let’s hope your hunch is right or at least close to the mark Carlton.

One win. One win and the crowds come flooding back I bet you. That seems to be how it goes and all is forgiven for another little while.

It was human nature to will the team on today. I certainly found myself wanting us to win, yet the result we got is the better one for the club. A loss to the Titans will surely do the trick.

I was just thinking, given the squad of leper’s they have, those titan coaches aren’t going too badly compared to McExcuse.

I spat out my lentil Spumante when I heard another gold Maryism,

“ this is the first time we haven’t been in the finals mix at this time of the year... since I’ve been coaching”

He just couldn’t help himself but award himself some righteous and indignant self praise after yet another humiliating failure.

He thought we’d all say “ yeah that’s right Mary, you are going great over the long term”

“ you are the dopers trip Mary”

“ keep up the fine work, we owe you!”

Can anyone effing believe that?

I admit I broke ranks and went for you guys today as us tigers hate the eels.

I learned a terrible lesson!

The losses to Souths and Parra reinforce to me that this is a fundamentally good team. At times I though Souths could score 50, and Parra never really felt in danger. But still we nearly jagged two wins. It was like a hapless version of good teams who manage to win even when they are playing badly. We play woefully and nearly get there.

There is so much potential in that roster but they just play without organisation, direction and hope. They have a couple of 5-10 minute patches where there are glimpses, but the losses feel inevitable. The players need a change to sharpen them up. I hope the board doesn't allow Mary to inflict too much more psychological damage before he's out.

‘Fail Mary’, ‘Step Down McGregor’: Dragons fans turn on coach

St George Illawarra’s fans and members have turned on coach Paul McGregor.

During Sunday’s Round 20 clash with Parramatta at Kogarah, a number of signs could be seen in the crowd on the hill, calling for McGregor to be sacked.

The signs read, ‘Fail Mary’ and ‘Step Down McGregor’.

The Red V were tipped to give the NRL premiership a shake in 2019 but have so far failed to reach the heights expected.

They won’t play a part in the finals series. They’ve played just three finals games since 2011.

McGregor took the reins of the club mid-season in 2014 when his predecessor, Steve Price, failed in the job.

Since then the team has finished 11th, 8th, 11th, 9th, and last year 7th. In 2018 they made it to the second week of finals.

McGregor was handed a contract extension in April which doesn’t expire until the end of the 2021 season.

But it appears a section of the club’s fanbase is keen to show the coach the door much sooner than that.

McGregor's Grand Final next week...........Won 2 of the last 13 games....

And breaks another record...1st dragons coach to have lost 5 games straight NOT ONCE but TWICE in the season...

Add that to the 1st Dragons coach to have his side held to Zero twice @ Kogarah in the clubs History...

Well Done Board....What a great Idea to extend him....More records to come....

Really not liking the lack of humility from the coach.

Our eleventh loss in thirteen games and he can only think to go into bat for himself. "This is the first time in my coaching career that I haven't had a team vying for finals footy at this time of the year."

For me, that is another comment that wreaks of desperation and ego.

That isn't how to appease the starved fans, Paul. We frankly aren't used to being losers as much as you are and we expect you to at least take some ownership of what's happening.
