“ Rookies again for 2020” was a very ill conceived comment and destroyed peoples hopes.
It meant that a number of painful years and sacrifice stood for nothing.
He’d be better off not sharing his views with people.
Not that people are listening anymore.
Nothing can save him, he’s had his run now ffs Sgi sack him.
NRL.com reports the Broncos included a performance-based termination clause into Anthony Seibold’s contract with an agreed pay-out.
If the Broncos decided to axe Seibold the club would not have to pay the remainder of his deal, instead a minimum of 12 months salary.
-----------------------------------------------------
Take note, Brian Johnston, the supposed experienced CEO in dealing with everything, Dragons.
KPI have been standard issue for all high paying salaries for the past 20 years!
Why, when everyone knew that McGregor was failing, year after year, wasn't a performance clause put into McGregors contract?
Johnston is equally out of place in his position, as McGregor is in his.
SACK McGregor!
SACK Johnston!

All the talk about not having the money to pay McGregor out is BS.
There is a big difference between not having the money and not wanting to part with it.
Imagine that Gould is now recommending 2 new crutches for McGregor.
Flannagan, who is already signed AND Tim Sheens as Director of Football.
Put the cost of those 2 together and it contradicts the "no money" red herring that the club spins.
I also find it hard to believe that McGregor's extension doesn't have a performance clause similar to Siebold's.
I suspect that they had contractual provision to sack him but decided not to.
The Board just doesn't want to be shown up and proven wrong about McGregor.
That little ego trip has already lasted 5 years and now looks like 6 or 7 years.
Johnston has been an unmitigated disaster as a CEO.
He should resign for his part in the McGregor extension.

How do you know that his NEW contract hasn't a performance clause ? All along i have suspected that the club was never going to sack him now and have to wait for next season in his new contract to start before they can flick him based on performance. What his performance should be is open to conjecture but all this to save 600-to 800k looks a bit amateurish and the board has to own up to their mistake instead of just patching up the issue with assistants.
I was told McGregor has to win 8 of the first 10 games next season or his contract is gone. How do you know that his NEW contract hasn't a performance clause ? False economy for sure. Just look at the plummeting crowd figures. How do you know that his NEW contract hasn't a performance clause ? And then get a contract extension mid-season, followed by losing the next 8 out of 10... hey... I recognise that tree. Are we going around in circles?I was told McGregor has to win 8 of the first 10 games next season or his contract is gone.
No idea now reliable this information is but there you go.

Very well stated.I heard something similar on mmm about a month ago, but it was wasn’t 8 out of 10, it was a review after 8 games with the emphasis on how the side was playing, no kpi about wins.
But if Flanagan is being recruited up, that’s a good start for the club to ease into any immediate and sudden de-Maryfication process.
It will be horrific for Mary having Flanagan breathing down his neck 24/7, quietly hoping and praying that Mary does not find any success.
So too a few players may also be looking for a fresh face. Especially the ones who spoke for Mary and he delivered 15th spot so eloquently.
Even if Mary starts winning, a lot of the success will be credited to Flanagan as everybody secretly knows Mary can’t quite manage to win on his own convincingly or consistently.
And the club can’t keep the fans more placated than installing a recent premiership winning coach.
Mary should see the enemy not just outside of the gates, but inside the war room. He should find the ethics, dignity and grace to surrender peacefully.
To at least be able to say sometime in the future, that he could have achieved something if he hadn’t decided to leave. Keep the decision with him.
I wonder why he prefers the disgrace and humiliation of being sacked?!
He has to live with that sadness forever, it’s not good for his friends etc. He should think of them.
They can’t be enjoying his failures if they care.
In the future grandpa Mary either decided to leave and move on to better things or he was sacked because he was an abject failure. Don’t let history judge you so harshly Paul. There is no miracle on the horizon.
And because we all care for Mary, he should go gracefully with his reputation not entirely destroyed ( which is what he strangely seeks). It’s for his own good really, putting him above any other concern.
Plus sgi fans like the idea of stomping on the sharks wherever possible.
Stealing their premiership winning coach is another tick for the fans and members of sgi. A small but happily held middle finger!
Judgment day is coming for you Mary, but you can save yourself if you act now.
He won't get near that target - hope it's true.I was told McGregor has to win 8 of the first 10 games next season or his contract is gone.
