I did not mind the P76 . Perhaps it’s design was just a bit too futuristic compared to the Holden’s - Fords and Valiants that we’re running around at the time. And of course the biggest mistake was not giving it a name , that was its biggest downfall . Why did they give it its design number and nothing else I wonder ?

Perhaps he who knows all - our Mary could give us an answer .

There was a rumour at the time that they were going to call it the “McGregor Hemi 85 Gran Finale” but it didn’t go down too well with the public sample focus groups.

The Gordon’s suggested a polariser and stripes to make it go faster.

Is this true?

Yes, but he is one of a number of players we are considering. Other clubs want him to because he is a major talent.

Source: Tigers website, q and a from a few days ago. Our ceo Pascoe refused to rule out that we are looking at him.

For sgi, the sad thing is that he wants out.

This is par for the course, even Bateman apparently wants out on the eve of a grand final.

Players should earn living, but they have responsibilities I think.

I am more interested in axing or reducing the salaries of underperforming contracted players. Mary should be livid with your senior players.

Were livid with Mary and should be paying the club interest on the monies they pay him..... but you already know that.

As the 2019 grand final inches closer, wind back the clock to 1966 when the Dragons produced yet another outstanding season and claimed their record 11th premiership in a row.

The mighty Red V side was once again the clear favourite of the competition, claiming the minor premiership with just four losses in the entire season. But the strong Balmain side were their closest competitors finishing in second place with just six losses.

In the last season of the unlimited tackle rule the Dragons’ defence was unbreakable, not allowing the Tigers to get into their in-goal under the stewardship of Dragons legend and captain-coach, Ian Walsh. Watch the entire record breaking match below.

“In the last season of the unlimited tackle rule” from the timely report above.

It now appears we have the “unlimited coaching rule “so far as sgi is concerned.

At the moment, we should shout out to the great Johnny Raper, who has dementia and is sadly on the late autumn path to leaving us. It’s a bit depressing.

I heard an interview with him once and he said he found that losing that 12th grand final or whatever it was, he described it as a “relief”

Can anyone here imagine a player or coach of the modern era addressing such a question with more poise, grace and honesty? Truth, dignity and courage.

This is what sgi used to stand for.

Not the excuse-fest of shallow, jolly joker self interest malarky it has become.

This is why you are fighting.

So the next Johnny Raper can step up and shine his light into the darkness the modern game.

Don’t blink gentlemen, not one step back.

Believe and ffs:-

Sack Mary.

Sorry, Johnny would be too small to play todays game. That shows there has got to be something done.

That’s true.

His honesty about that loss was pristine and thought provoking. It’s counter-intuitive in some ways and I admire him for it.

The treachery and betrayal that has infected the game needs to be eliminated.

Let’s start with Tedesco, Moses, Matterson, Cleary etc and that greedy idiot Bateman spoiling the gf for his fans.

There are plenty of examples players chasing pay packets and they are the ones that often don't deliver.

If a player genuinely moves because he is buying into a culture and suitable environment then he will actually perform better and take less $$$ eg Tedesco, Joel Thompson and Dylan walker.

Our 2019 season was a disaster and at this stage it only looks like Hornby is gone. Getting rid of one man alone will not fix our culture!

Yes. I have been one of the outspoken posters on removing not just Mary but many lazy players. I’m for sacking bj, removing the board and selling the club to an interested and motivated buyer within a structure that embraces members and gives them a lot of power. I’ve suggested stealing other clubs management to run the tough part of the operations.

At the moment, the place is run by terrified court jesters.

Their enemy is you patriots. Those who are emotionally invested in the club and seek change.

Those who believe the club still stands for something after years of horror in the hands of the Mary Elite.

They have tied their fate to Mary, once he goes, they are scared they will follow.

I think this thread needs to be put to bed for 6 months, if coming second last, members protesting on the hill, media attention and members openly threatening not to renew is enough to get Mary a sacking then nothing is going to. We just need to ride out a season probably 2. Of most interest now is how many players are going to leave and the biggest piece of the puzzle left is the JDB situation. If he is cleared cool we have an origin standard player back in the squad. If he isn't we have the salary cap space to buy a new player if there are any left by that stage. One benefit is that they will have done a pre season under a different coach, which should hold them in good stead for a month or two.

Staying at Wollongong Novotel this long weekend and just saw Widdop, Graham McNoidea and another person I didn’t recognise, having a few quiet ones at Pepe’s on the beach. Was tempted to throw a comment at McNoidea as their booth was right along the footpath but didn’t do in case Jimmy jumped the fence and came after me.

Yes, it was the 'changing of the guard ceremony ' .....so now we can assume Graham will be captain next season. Probably the only shinning light for the next season.
