Rating Scale Definitions
(5) Outstanding – far exceeds expectations/job requirements
Performs all duties in an exceptional manner and significantly exceeds expectations with exceptional quality, quantity, and timeliness. Consistently achieves objectives and always achieves exceptional results far beyond those expected of the position.
(4) Exceeds – exceeds expectations/job requirements
Exceeds criteria for quality, quantity, and timeliness. Achieves results beyond those expected for the position.
(3) Meets – meets expectations/job requirements
Consistently performs all duties of the position capably. Meets and occasionally exceeds all expected criteria for quality, quantity, and timeliness. Fully meets goals and objectives. Requires limited supervision.
(2) Needs Improvement – meets some but not all expectations/job requirements Meets some position requirements and performs some duties capably. Performance is sometimes inconsistent and unreliable. Requires improvement in quality, quantity, and timeliness of work to fully meet requirements. Requires more supervision than expected. (New team members frequently fall into this category.) Needs additional training, experience, and/or counseling to meet requirements in some area.
(1) Unsatisfactory – does not meet expectations/job requirements
Fails to meet minimum requirements. Demonstrates unacceptable performance that suggests lack of willingness and/or ability to perform the requirements of the position. Immediate improvement is required; continued unacceptable performance could result in termination. Has not responded to counseling and/or training efforts.
