This might be the Eels 14th spoon.

We are the only current pre-1982 club to have avoided the spoon - and we've never won it, as our boys are too proud of our history!
Such a great club - and with the right administrative decisions we'd've won a couple of titles on the trot since 2010.

But since 2011 we have just been making up the numbers - our best result has been 8th.

When was the last time we this bad for this long? The late 80s were pretty bleak and before that you would have to go back to the 30s or 40s I suppose.

2012 till now is the worst 7 years, maybe we broke a mirror and the 7 years curse is now ending.

But they have still won the wooden spoon. Its not about getting smashed by a team below you or beating a team above you its about consistency across the season and how many games you have won.
We have won a lot of games and shouldn't be compared with the team that has only won a handful.
