"The Manly Sea Eagles first ever locally born international Roy Bull passed away last night (Tuesday,June 29) aged 75.

Bull is a legend at the Sea Eagles and his death has again plunged the Manly club into mourning. It is only a few weeks since the club mourned the loss of former champion fullback Bob Batty.

Roy Bull was a life member of the Sea Eagles,a life member of the Manly Leagues Club where he served for more than three decades as a member of the Board and also a life member of the NSW Rugby League.

The former tough uncompromising prop has been a stalwart of Manly since he burst into the club's first premiership side in 1947 - straight out of the club's historic winning Presidents Cup side the previous season.

Bull played his first Test for Australia in 1949 abd played 22 Tests for his country. He toured England with the 1952 Kangaroos.

His great friend Ken Arthurson said Bull was the heart and soul of Manly.

"He was a dear friend - we went to Manly Boys High together and played with Freshwater D grade side before going into grade with Manly.

"I can't imagine him not being around anymore.Manly has had many people who have given a lifetime to the Sea Eagles but Roy Bull was the very foundation on which the club was built,"Arthurson said.
Roy Bull is survived by his charming wife Barbara, sons Martin,Howard and Adrian and daughter Charlene.

Funeral arrangements will be announced later today but it is expected the service will be held next Monday,July 5.
