Neck, shoulders, triceps, even his forearms are thicker. He has always had a good fend, so this should make it even better.
Just comparing Sloan and Turuva (too lazy today to get others) -

Tyrell Sloan: Weight 93kgs and Height 185cm (6ft 1 in) and age 22
Sunia Turuva: 88kgs and 181cm and 22

Both still much less in terms of weight and height from a lot of other wingers but Sloan has now grown and should be able able to compete quite well on the wing when you compare his details against Turuva who is a pocket dynamo and did wll at the Panthers.

Tyrell will muscle up a lot more this preseason. Last preseason he got injured in the Koori Knockout Comp and was not able to go into training under Flanno and the other coaches and Fitness staff so in a way he was a bit under done for 2024. Next year though, he will be stronger and tougher and fitter.

I have long thought that the weights programs at Saints has not been as good as at other clubs. So - referring to the training pics on another thread - it is really gratifying to see the trainers putting some beef on Tyrell and other guys too. The game has so many collisions week in week out, you have to have that bulk or you can't do the job.

According the Flanno's interview, Saints have the best high performance coaches in the country hence why the boys are really developing well. Shane often mentions body shapes. Looks like he is getting Sloan to the best shape of his life to be a success. I really hope Sloany kills it in 2025. Some of the runs he made last year were pretty good. The guy runs like a gazelle when he is in the open. Great to watch. I have a feeling he will be playing the role Lomax did last year and come in looking for the ball or take the high kicks from the halves in attack.

This is perfect and EXACTLY what Sloan needs, GUTHO you bloody beauty !!!!!!!
Gutho has brought fresh air into the Dragons Den and his leadership on and off the field is what this club has lacked for a considerable time and he is setting standards that the young ones can aspire to.

Good luck Gutho and to all of the Dragons players for a bright future.

Imagine Ben saying this about a young halfback.

"He’s had enormous pressure on him as a kid, so to be able to help and guide him to where he wants to be as a player and what he wants to do in his career, I think I can be a massive help with that."

Chalk and dickcheese
When was the last time you heard any of our players say they learnt so much off Hunt, not even KF.

Dylan Brown will miss Gutho at the Eels. Others from that club will also. They respect him as a person and player. Gutho also has plenty of good words about the club he has left and shows no hard feelings especially after being there for 9 years.

He doesn't bear any grudges because he respects the decisions made and he knows that he has made the right decision in signing with us and is looking forward to playing in the RedV jersey.

Did the Dragons have a guy named Ben Hunt play for them? If he did, I cannot remember him saying anything nice about our club after he left us.

From the Fox article: “Gutherson‘s philosophy has always been to build relationships with teammates off the field first, in a bid to ensure they work harder for each other on the field.

“You’ve got to build relationships,” Gutherson said.

“That’s how you build culture, you’re getting to know each other away from footy, not just at footy.”

Leadership. How we have missed you these last few years. It’s good to have you back!
