Have we had a thread on this game yet?

I just started playing it yesterday. Pretty cool from what I've seen so far... it's the type of game where you simply don't know what to expect next. Graphics and Audio are great, and so are the twists. I like how you're part of a team and not running solo like is the norm for most games these days.

Whilst searching youtube for gameplay, I came across this video:

From there, I found it was a link to an American Gamer Girl who has... only too many social networking pages: (make of this what you will).

Yes we have.

And Justine is hardly a "Gamer Girl". She's just a social media toerag that brings nothing new, just copies everyone else & jumps on "new" fads after they have already been established. If you are a 12 year old girl, I get why she'd be appealing to you. If you can form entire sentences on your own with no prompting from your mum, you're beyond her audience.

Though your effort in dropping every bit of info, minus her bra size, would indicate may have found your new "Dear Penthouse..." inspiration!

Ta. After reading a bit more into it after posting this thread, I realised that she's exactly as you explained...

So far I like. The character creation is awesome, so are the upgrades available. The driving is the only thing I don't enjoy that much. I mean, Driver SF raised the bar to an unbelievable height. But apart from that the action and other gameplay methods are awesome.

Yeah got a bit off track there ay.

Awesome game though. Unlike anything I've played before. The mix of humor, 'unique' gameplay (not sure what engine they're running here), and awesome action make for an top game. Already looking forward to the 4th :D

I bought SR2 since it was cheap at JB, gonna buy 3 online if I like 2, but so far not looking good. If it's even half the quality of San Andreas though I'd give it a go.

I wasn't a huge fan of 3. Bring on GTA V.

Might have to hire Saints 3, it has very mixed reviews for my liking which means unless I get it real cheap don't want to risk the purchase!
Just bought GTA IV (Just new to this gen of gaming!), and I'm liking it enough- But I miss the sprawling miles of San Andreas. Whats the closest current gen game to that sort of thing?

From what I've seen of GTA V trailors- bring it on indeed.

I was new to the Saints Row games. Without playing 1 or 2, I absolutely LOVED 3 (finished it this afternoon), and it's pretty easy to a hold on what the story's about. I will say this, I was not disappointed and it is clearly an awesome sandbox game. The only thing I didn't like was the driving (does not compete with GTA and Driver San Francisco) but all other aspects of the game are awesome. If driving is what you like best about the GTA games then don't get this game.

Define quality? Graphics and sounds are awesome. If you're talking about gameplay, then the story is completely different.

I think it is probably the sheer logistics of the detail of the city in GTA IV being put on to a GTA SA size map that saw it limited to around half the size. So much detail over such a vast map would take forever to get right.

A bigger map for GTA V could also explain why there has almost been a four year gap since the last GTA was released - with no release date in sight yet.

I'm in a catch 22 at the moment. I need a new GPX card, but don't know what to do. I want one good enough to run GTA V smoothly, but I also want one that I can play SR3 on now. Oh decisions decisions.

You won't need much for SR3, a mid range card will run it smooth as silk, if GTA-V is as resource hungry as IV was then you'll need the card that comes out 12 months later to get it maxed out and running well.

Oh man I don't want to wait that long. GTA 4 ran pretty smoothly on my 9800GT. Do you think a similar (but more recent) card will work well? Also what are your thoughts on what these guys are saying: http://www.igrandtheftauto.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=794467
