Saints vs Manly at Oki Jubilee Stadium

The NRL have confirmed that the St George Bank Dragons will play Manly on Sunday, the 29th of August at Oki Jubilee Stadium. Kick-off has been scheduled for 2:30pm.

The last time Manly visited Kogarah was in March 1997. The match was much anticipated following Manly’s controversial victory in the 1996 Grand Final against the mighty Saints. A Friday night crowd of 16,706 saw Manly narrowly escape with an 18-14 victory.

Supporters should once again attempt to pre-purchase their tickets for this important game. The Dragons are promoting the match as a St.George heritage afternoon, which should create plenty of interest. Hopefully the Dragons will wear a similar jersey to the 1965 style jersey with a full red V.

Manly have played 25 matches at Kogarah, recording 9 victories, 15 losses and 1 draw.

I can't wait. I'm already looking forward to our next home match...

Any word on how long the temporary seating at the southern end will be up for?? They should expand on it & have it at the other end too.

There's no way the bank will go for the full Vee, I'll be very interested to see what the club comes up with...

Cheers,
Ben S.

They were being taken down today according to a reliable source. Those seats looked awesome and a friend of mine said the view was sensational.

Can't wait for the Manly match either!

How nice of The Dragons club (?) to acknowledge and celebrate St George heritage. :-s

This is appears to a mimic of the Steelers Heritage day when we wore the full Illawarra strip from head to toe. So I imagine we'll do the same wearing Saints shorts and socks.

Seems the powers that be have finally succumbed to my dogged one man campaign to have our socks reinstated!

Sorry about that Jabs & Co. I was informed before the Sharks' match that they were to be taken down the day after the game. The same person has told me that they will stay on for the Manly match, but I'm not sure what's happening after that time. The Club & Bank received very positive feedback about the seats.

And when we win, its time for the army and supporters alike to rush the field, and chair Tingha off.

Manly will be wearing the same jersey's as the 87 game. Not only do they look like the jersey from 87 the boys play like they're the team of 87. Don't take us too lightly..I'm not saying we'll win just dont go in the mindset of " its only Manly"...Newcastle did this 2 weeks ago and it ended up 48-10..

Where's My Heritage?

What the Dragons have dished out for their "St George Heritage Day" is a joke. Firstly they just shoved it in with the generic NRL 80's week, (which the other clubs are participating in anyway) and then I hear nothing of it.

There has hardly been a whisper about this and if I didn't come on these forums, I wouldn't have known aboutthe day.
They jersey they have dished out it a shocker and the advertising for the event has been even worse.

The Steeler Day was practically headline news, the jersey obviously was more prepared/thought about. There isn't even mention of the day happening on the official Dragons website. On the website, they also sell the Steeler Heritage jersey, although nothing about the Saints one.

It is an absolute joke, I would have rathered have a proper one and wait until next year or something, then the Dragons shoving a crap "heritage day" in now in an attempt to satisfy the supporters.

The fans have a right to be disgusted.

LOL, I thought you'd be used to being stooged by The Brand by now. I know I am. Just add this to the list of other lies & non-events they've peddled in the past six years.

I can't wait to get to Jubilee tomorrow, the weather will be nice, hopefully, the Kogarah Faithful will be fired up and Manly will be crushed by a top-four bound side. Bring it on...

Cheers,
Ben S.
