also have to add that Nick Graham's contract would not be insubstantial. I cant wait for Miles to leave. How the hell we let O'Halloran go and kept Miles I will never know

The same can be said for Mears to be honest he was signed on a HUGE contract by Lamb and I actually think he is very close to be our top money earner at the club

If O'Hallaran was such a good player and we should have kept him why didnt any other club pick him up ?

People seem to have short memory's. Miles filled in admirably at fullback last year when we had no one else. He was playing out of position and did a good job IMO. This year was his chance to prove himself in his natural position as a winger. But, unfortunately he got injured.

To suggest Mears, the best hooker in the club was a dud buy is ludicrous. Some of you fossils need to pull yaselfs out of the dirt and take a clearer look at the big picture, because im telling you, your missing a great game.

Who said he was a dud buy ??? I mentioned he was an over priced buy and to have him at the club with in our top 2 most expensive players is a joke!!!!

Do you honestly think that the whole time that Mears has been at the Wests Tigers he has not only deserved to be one of our top earners let alone our best Hooker for the time he has been at the Wests Tigers ???

If so your the one who needs the reality check!

Miles has never been a good player gr8_1. In any side he has played with he has been average at best. My point about O'Halloran had to do with a player who was just starting to show potential, and who in my view was our best outside back last year. O'Halloran wasnt off contract the club released him because London offered a large contract to him. Money he would never have made here. Your argument about why no other club wanted him could easilty be applied to Mears. This guy has played with several clubs yet has failed to nail down a first grade position. Why? Is it because he is a poor defender and often very selfish in attack? Regardless, Mears is playing well this year in the role the club has chosen for him. Personally I wouldnt like to see him playing 80 minutes

Agreed on O'Hallaran.

On Miles, I can only judge him from his time at our club. Playing out of position last year he performed well IMO. If he didn't get injured I am sure he would be in our starting team still and performing.

On Mears. The reason he hasn't nailed down a permanent first grade spot has nothing to do with the way he plays the game. Given the chance he would play 80mins easily.

It's all a matter of opinion I guess. If we all agreed with each other it would be a boring world.

Are you serious? We can't afford to spend all our money? That's a bit scary...

Blame Bullock and Junior for that. $8 million Gooooone in less than 12 months! It left Noyce and Baa nothing to work with. Wests Tigers are back in the black just...(although with continuing to participate in Double Header matches as well as taking one of our home games over to the Tasman, it suggests Wests still are not out of the woods...but with consistent healthy crowds at both Leichhardt AND Campbelltown, that can be fixed easily) but gezz for a while there the Joint-Venture was struggling.[/i]

Agreed. His strength was his height, he could get up and under for a high ball, no doubt about that, but apart from that, was very predictable in attack, and although his defense was sound, he had trouble reading the opposition's defensive patterns, which more often than not, put him in two minds. Established 1st Grade player's rarely should have those weaknesses. He burst onto the scene in 2001 through Baa blooding him, which was a good move, he showed he could handle it. Although struggled in 2002, and did not set the world on fire in 2003, hence the club releasing or deciding not to retain his services.

He has been injured most of the year vicious, played about 6 games. OHalloran was by far and away our best outside back last year. IPreviously I had thought he was the most useless player ever to pull on a tigers jersey but last year he really proved me wrong. He had gained an extra two yeards of pace and was running the ball very strongly. I was very disappointed with them releasing him. It would have been okay if we had better options but we were extremely weak on the flanks which meant we had to sign Moodie when Richards got injured. Considering he only ever played 28 first grade games Im not sure you could call him an established first grader Gobbs. But his level of improvement was excellent, and whilst he would only have ever been a decent first grader he is far and away superior to who we have on one wing at the moment

Agree ST i thought Ohallaran was a bit of a poor mans Pat Richards, a strong runner, excellent attacking option under the high ball.

Certainly a strange decision as he seems to fit the Sheens mould of big and strong outside backs (Wilson, Elford, Richards)

Payten has been a free buy!

Hodgson, Prince, Mears, Sattler and Galea are our highest earners

Skando, Buckets, Fitzy, Miles and Wilson are next

If Robbie Mears or Darren Senter are on anything more than $150,000 it is definately too much.Hodgo and Skando are worth $250,000+,i`d hope Scotty Prince is not paid too much more than $200,000,Sattler and Galea are worth somewhere between $150,000-$200,000,Buckets,Fitzy and Wilson worth between $100,00-$150,000 and I know for a fact that Milesy is only on $90,000-$100,000!

You must be kidding!Rob Miles is one of if not the fastest player in the club whilst my grandmother would beat O`Halloran over 50 metres!!!Add Trent Clayton to the list.If you can honestly tell me that O`Halloran provided more spark to the team than what Clayton did,you must have been watching something different to what I was!!!

can you quote ure source on these, cause i beleive these amounts are just pure speculation. Darren Senter would be on 200k+ but with salary cap exempts would be PEANUTS.
