Perhaps at long last the RFL might be growing a spine as regards Salford, but I won't hold my breath.

You have no idea what was presented to IMG in October last year. Salford where coming off the back of a 4th place and playoff cash boost. They may well have looked very viable at that time. They are blaming the Stadium ownership delay as the key cause of their current cash flow problem. If true or not we will never know as we are not privy to the IMG process or what was presented back then.

Quite clearly they have taken the RFL and IMG for fools and should be relegated at the end of the season wherever they finish in the Super League table for failing the criteria.

Last time they had licensing Wakey and cas lied about new stadiums and that got them in

I believe that going into administration or declaring bankruptcy are the only ways you can be automatically relegated. Otherwise it is grading that will determine the make up of the 2026 SL comp.
Presumably, unless new owners come in and inject serious money, Salford will get marked down for finances this year opening the door for Toulouse or Bradford to score higher. Or the new owners may be legit, come in with a big cash investment and Salford will be fine.

Salford are an embarrassment. I'll say it and repeat it. Players now refusing to play until paid. No honour in the badge or for the fans (knowing the money will be coming). Toronto Wolfpack were expelled for not meeting standards a few years back, but we're sitting back at letting the Salford clown show continue? They are and always will be a glorified Championship club who stumbled into the big time and had 1 or 2 good seasons. Yeah, they finished 4th last year but were not within cooee of the top 3. IMG been taken for fools and the old anti-expansionist agenda got their desire. Screw London, screw Toulouse, screw a club with solid following.

Feel for the fans, have been there myself with my club and its a horrible place to be.
Hopefully the investors come through. If not I hope someone picks up Paul Rowley for head coach, he's a cracking coach imo.

Sounds like toronto all over again, Jon Wilkins on Sky the other night was saying when he played for the wolfpack they didnt know if their wages would go in from month to month with some months taking extra weeks to get paid. Hopefully the new owners are legit and its just a banking delay.

At this moment in time on the 6th March 2025 I don't think the money is there.
Why the RFL are bending over backwards to appease Salford in a mystery to me as last year they couldn't throw the London Broncos under the bus quick enough, but I think it shows how incompetent the RFL is.

They didnt throw london anywhere. London where removed as they didnt grade higher than 12 other clubs. They fluked a final to get in in reality and werent anywhere near ready for SL.
What do you want the RFL to do? Dump a club mid season and have a screwed fixture list that doesnt meet the tv contract? Promote a championship club no where near equipped for SL?
RFL are giving them as much support as they can, this is all on Salford.

They had no issue dumping Toronto the other year.

It's part on RFL and IMG too for not doing due diligence to ensure that everything was above board. Salford have been treading water for a long time even back to the Koukash days. Stick a fork in them
