Read the text below the video as they did not talk about it on the video.
Turns out he needs arthroscopic surgery on his knee and they are going to sideline him for 4-6 weeks...
I know he is a gun but this is becoming a joke. He is out more than he is in.

It will be a true test to see how we go without him over the next 6 weeks. Thank god there is a bye in there,

In addition to this report, Rabbitohs captain Sam Burgess will miss the next four to six weeks due to an issue with one of his knees.
Burgess had scans late on Sunday and the scans showed that he requires an arthroscopy to clean out the knee.
"Sam has been battling through with this pain in his knee for a few weeks now and the surgeon says he needs to get it cleaned up so he can perform to his best," Rabbitohs Head Coach Michael Maguire said today (Monday).
"He hasn't been able to train properly throughout the week yet it shows the character of Sam to continually be putting his hand up and playing in pain as he felt he might be letting his team down if he didn't.
"The surgeon has said it's got to a point where he needs to have it done and now is an opportune time with the bye this weekend.
"Sam will be sidelined for four to six weeks, we know he will rehab his injury properly, and we're looking forward to having him back on the field for the back end of the season."

We were going ok without him earlier in the season. Still a massive kick in the nuts though.

Is Pettybornes injury long term?

Sucks that we got hit by 3 at once. Oh well it'll be a good test of our depth.

King out isn't too big of a problem, Everingham has shown he can handle the centres and Hunt has done more than enough to keep his wing spot.

With Eddy and Sam out at the same time Ha'angana might get a run in these next 6 weeks. Am keen to see what he has to offer in first grade.

With the bye Sam might only miss 3 games.

If they knew he needed the arthroscope, why wasn't it done after the first bye? Would've only missed our last 3 games.

I reckon the pack should look something like this now:
8 L.Burgess
9 Luke
10 Tyrrell
11 Clark
12 Taylor
13 Crocker

14 Lowe
15 Peats/McQueen
16 G.Burgess
17 Starling/Aerai'iti/Ha'anagana

F##k me 6 to 8 weeks at this time of the season,in 6 to 8 weeks there may be no need for them to come back.
King,Pettibourne, Burgess again,Asotasi again, another year of most of our cap sitting on the bench, unbelievable !!
Is Burgess worth it ??

Burgess isn't 6-8 weeks. Burgess is 4-6 weeks.

And lets not f**king overreact, have people already forgotten he made a brilliant break in the final minutes of the game to nearly win it for us. The final minutes, when you'd expect someone carrying a serious knee issue to be in awful pain.

He's not getting an acl repaired or a full on knee reco, it's a minor issue, he'll be back by the end of the month.

Let's keep things in perspective.

Sam hasn't been his awesome self on the field lately and the injury is probably making him cranky which results in Sam giving away silly penalties. Hopefully he comes back soon and regains his high level form.

Obviously he is the biggest loss, but I am more interested to see what plans Madge has for the backs.
