Sam Thaiday being a pussy merkin again

I agree it's poor sportsmanship and typical Queensland behaviour, but unless you wind up and drill it into someone's face from close range it's not really a big deal. The ref warned Scott more because he started the fight rather than the actual ball-throwing

The thing is though Scotts actions were no different than Boyds. So are we saying you can throw balls at players heads, so long as they don't react?

I don't like it because for me doing that is grounds to get punched in the face. But I know if Carney did get up and belt Boyd it would be Carney getting punished, even though it would be a justified response imo.

I consider it on par with going up to someone and slapping them in the chops

I just watched the replay of the fight about 5 times. Thaiday comes in to break it all up. Pearce took 2 cheap shots at Tate while he was held by another player and not even looking at Pearce, then Pearce took a cheap shot at Shillington which missed, then Thaiday grabbed Pearce to stop him, at which point Pearce threw another one which struck Thaiday square on the chin and Sam simply laughed it off.

Watch the replays boys.

That punch on Shillington (i thought it hit his chest) made me laugh. Shillingtons non-reaction is classic

But maybe it missed like you said, I can't tell for sure

SO in other words Pearcy took on 3 Queenslanders by himself in what was a 12 on 3 fight at the time. That 4-1 advantage just wasn’t enough for thirdman and he didn’t have the guts to retaliate.

If you call throwing punches at someone who is not looking at you, and has no idea you are trying to fight them as "taking them on", then sure. It just looked to me like he was trying to punch anyone he could. Thaiday grabbed hold of him to stop him, and he got one on Thaiday. Seems he has the punching power of a 12 year old girl though, because Sam didn't even flinch.

Fear of being in amongst the biff would do that to some men.lol. Pillow fisting his way out of the brawl to survive.

Other than that, Pearce is a tough little bugger on D, how many times did he fly outta no where to smash the kick returner.

He didn't need to get involved in any of it, though.

Um yes he did, that's why he got 10 in the bin.

Thaiday would be a coward for smashing Pearce. It would be like smashing your little sister when she throws her girl arms at you.

Thaiday did well in destroying Pearce's ego.

Exactly. If I had a little scrawny, half geniused brother I wouldn't beat up on him.

Pearce on Thaiday is a fair match, Thaiday sure as f**k wouldn't have a chance of beating anyone else except maybe Carney.

None of them have seen him fight, or even throw a punch at someone but they'd rather put the Qlder down than vent their righteous fury at one of their own who actually did what they claim Thaiday does.

"Sir, are you for real? This is a state of origin game ... Mate, Sam Thaiday (Maroons forward) has been running in for years doing that." - GALLEN questions referee Matt Cecchin's decision to sin-bin Michael Jennings.
