I don't think he will be getting paid out (except by some fans), but I believe Ricky has told him to pull his socks up both on and off the field. I hope Ricky can get the best out of him because it's something Kearney couldn't do.

I honestly don't think he was too bad !

He had a couple of ordinary games for sure and his defence needs a lot of work - but his defence was the same this year as it always has been so we bought him knowing that.

He took some wrong options - but again - he played the same way for us as he did for Souths - no better - no worse !

I reckon half a mill sounds about right.
Wouldn't surprise me if he has something in his contract that increases it if the salary cap goes up.

Yeah you could be right. I assumed the half a mill already accounted for the pending cap increase. Same with Hopoate's big contract.

considering the lack of go forward we had most of the year Sandow was ok, the only reason the papers are calling him a flop is because of the money they reportly are paying him. If He was on $300k no one would have a go at him based on his form but the for the reported $550k (which we all know is crap) they expect him to win all the games on his own.

if anyone can do it, Ricky can. he gets the best out of players with very little time to work with them!

IIRC, last year sandow carried souths in the back half of the comp, with a decimated forward pack.
Their decimated forward pack from last year still trounces our best pack at full fitness. Be worse next year with no Hindy to cover for them. I sincerely hope Sandow & Hayne are ready next year for if and when our forwards do not perform because criticism won't go to the guys who deserve it

He's played better without Hayne this year than with him. He has really stepped up in his absence, but even earlier in the year he was looking to take control more when Hayne was out.

He runs more (5.5 per game) when Hayne is on the field compared to when he is not playing (4.8 per game) but his runs are more effective without Hayne (10 metres per run compared to 8.9 m/run with Hayne on the field).

Sandow's offloads (0.8 vs 0.9 per game), linebreak assists (0.5 vs 0.4 per game) and try assists (0.4 vs 0.4 per game) are all nearly identical whether Hayne is on the field or not.

The biggest improvement in Sandow's stats when Hayne doesn't play are in the areas of tackle breaks (2.6 vs 1.7 per game), linebreaks (0.6 vs 0.2 per game) and tries (0.7 vs 0.1 per game). Without Jarryd Hayne on the field with him, Chris Sandow's running game is vastly improved; he breaks 1.5 times as many tackles, makes three times as many linebreaks, and scores tries seven times more often.

These stats are based on only 12 games without Hayne and 10 games with him, so too small a sample size to be conclusive, but the results are interesting. I chose this comparison because I noticed early in the year that Sandow seemed more assertive when Hayne didn't play.

don't know how much i'd worry about the hayne stat - hayne has been out recent weeks, which coincided with alot of other things that may have affected sandow too

Such as the absence of Keating, and Nathan Smith's performance at dummy half. Mate, I noticed early in the year that Sandow was playing better without Hayne.

I hope your right Jess and until I see reason to believe otherwise I will remain optimistic. We all know things can't get any worse.
