What does everyone think of them?

I like Zelic, short, crisp and to the point, not shy of telling it how it is.

Okon is like watching paint dry, f**k me...

I dont mind it...

I mean you aren't going to get the greatest insights in the world because, frankly, most of the players they've got weren't really that great to begin with. However they still tend to know plenty and importantly they can all string a few words together without throwing down a cliche each sentence.

The only one thats grated me is Kalac. Why SBS or the man himself thinks they should be on TV is beyond me. His commentary has come across as utter sour grapes IMO.

Oh, and I'm also not a fan of Muscat. If his role isn't a "jobs for the boys" free junket to the world cup then I don't know what is

I don't really like those yesmen that keep saying nae and yeh all the time in response to the other commentators.

Definately prefer the insights of Les and Foz to the commentators in South Africa or the panel back in Sydney. Although Ned Zelic certainly spoke with plenty of passion about the Socceroos woes the other day, while the others didn't really inspire.

Guardian FTW.

David Basheer and Muscat doing the Aussie games = Major facepalm.

Why wasn't something organised with Simon Hill? Yes he is under contract by Mr Murdoch, but surely there's a loophole of some sort.

The "other" commentators during the games have been quite decent, Martin Tyler is still #1.

I loved the commentator in the Netherlands game last night, not sure who he was, he was so cynical it was funny. Continually stressing how boring the game was, and it was too!

Zelic was absolute class, too bad the bloke was a nutjob.

Okon was also a great player. Those were the days...

If you want to play a fun drinking game, slam down a shot everytime Fozzie mentions Barcelona.

I my opinion Zelic is the most naturally gifted player Australia has produced. The guy was a freak. He also has an excellent soccer brain, and certainly doesnt mince his words. Always listen to what he has to say, as so far, he's been pretty spot on.
I heard he wanted to coach at one stage? Wasnt he going for the aussie job??
Not sure his people skills are too good though, which may be why it wasnt taken seriously.

Wouldnt be surprised to see his name pop up as coach in the future though.

Zelic knows his stuff, I like him. I forget the name of the black dude, but f**k me he is a dribbler. I've seen him on countless times muddle up in the middle of sentences

Black guy is Francis Awawitefe, he was the biggest diver ever in the old NSL. if he took a dive, he would limp around for 10 minutes, unless of course, the ball went near him. I like how that Dempsey guy always f**ks his name up (first night he called him Awara-feet) and also keeps thinking hes straight out of Africa.

Craig Foster is the man. Always enjoy listening to his comments. I love Les as well.

Gary Bloom is my fave commentator, so good to hear him call the games.

Ned Zelic & Okon were awesome, both suffered crippling injuries, as did the other next big thing in aussie football in the early 90s, Andrew Orsatti. If those 3 with the likes of Bosnich, Kewell, Slater, Viduka etc. We would have made the 98 world cup and had a good dig at it too.
