Williams is the greatest footballer currently playing in either code.

And people are telling ME I've lost perspective! FFS. Who wrote that? Khodar Nasser?
So that's the only part of the article you commented on??

I also find it hilarious that he is in a position to say that JWH is more important to the Roosters than SBW considering he supposedly doesn't watch any Roosters games because of SBW

lol, you'd better book into a good gym with a sunbed

Maybe

There are probably 10-15 blokes who I'd say could feasibly be given that title and SBW is one of them

I still read the stats.

JWH runs more metres and makes more tackles in less minutes than Money Bill.

Easts also loose more games when JWH is not playing. Simple maths.

And JWH has something that Money Bill doesn't. More committment and loyalty.

I've never said for one minute the bloke can't play. Just the hype is rubbish. And the I don't think what he does is particularly deliberate. I think he just isn't very smart and he is manipulated by those around him. He makes a lot of money and in the end, I guess on one front, that makes him a winner. If money is particularly important to you. But there is a point where extra money isn't that important.

I realised the other day why people don't get what I'm saying about this bloke. Gen Y doesn't value loyalty. Selfishness isn't a bad thing for you lot. Its more about the culture of celebrity, rather than the commitment. Ultimately that erodes the image and peoples perception of the NRL footballer. The majority do show committment and loyalty but all the average punter hears about is blokes like Money Bill and they are all tarred with that brush.

It just turns me off and thats why I don't watch him as I refuse to buy into that.

He showed all his toughness again last night, wingers in the NRL now know not to mess with Sonny or the big shoulder will be coming in ;)

So it seems you conclude that those who disagree with your point of view must be Gen Y'ers who don't value loyalty.

I disagree with you and I'm not Gen Y. I value perspective, and that extends to not getting my panties in a twist about some bloke, a fantastic footy player, because he made a selfish career decision or two years ago.

Meanwhile he didn't take ElephantJuice, beat up his partner, kill any kittens, or conduct any terrorist activities.

I'd say he showed his toughness when his side were 26-0 down at the start of the second half and he put in a huge performance in an effort which might've been one video ref call away from a spectacular comeback. He really tried to carry the team on his back in that second half.

I'd also say I should stop responding to even the most mild of troll posts, but I can't help myself

Disagree with me on what?

Is he a good player? Well I agree with that.
Is he the greatest player in the NRL at the moment. If you think yes, well then we do disagree.

Is he a rapist and dirtbag. Never said that. No disagreement.

Is he selfish? You can't argue that he isn't, surely. The bulldogs decision is years ago. Doesn't come into it for me, a mistake he should have learnt from. And he did. He got away with it. Thats what he learnt and he plays on it every year. I'd be fine if he just come out and said, I'm off the the chiefs. I'd respect him more if he signed for two years, not one.

But 2 rounds from the end of the NRL and who is he playing for next year? Easts or the Chiefs or Paris and Tokoyo?

I'm sure he has told the Easts management, surely. But how do they plan if they don't know. There might be 3 or 4 maybe 5 or 6 players trying to work out how much they get next year. Blokes that earn $80,000 a season or whatever the minimum is. Might be their only ever NRL contract. But Money Bill needs time to think about it.

Is he playing for the Kiwis in the world Cup? How does Kearney plan for the tournament not knowing if he will deem it worthy of an appearance? Surely that is selfish. Just say yes or no. How hard is that.

I've wasted too much time on him already. I'm comfortable not watching him and comfortable with what I do. It all started with me saying that Kiwi supporters shouldn't get excited about the prospect of him playing because he is likely to disappoint you.

Me, I want to watch guys I respect and there are plenty of them. But not him. If he plays, I'll follow Tonga, Samoa, Ireland or USA or something. Might be more fun. Watching guys play for virtually no money but just for the pure thrill of playing for your country in a world cup. How much would that be worth. To me, millions.

I saw an interview during the week from SBW.. He just laughed it off and said he doesn't mind as long as people watching enjoy themselves.

It's hardly like he went in to the opposition changing rooms looking for a fight and then spend the following month talking square ups to the media only to pussy out come game time...

Seriously... How on earth can you call him selfish for only committing to one year deals??

That's his choice... If they need to sign other players then they need to go ahead and sign them.

That's not his problem... If they can't resign everyone then they need to make the hard decision to either let the players go or give up on SBW for next season...

If they want to hold off until SBW makes his choice... That's there decision not his.

To suggest that a player is selfish because he won't announce his plans for next season is ludicrous.

If anything he's the opposite... He's actually seeing out his contract first before discussing his next contract.

He could of course let everyone know he's signing with the Chiefs next season by going on YouTube with a Chiefs jersey on... That wouldn't be selfish t all...

Showing plenty of that commitment and loyalty you speak so often of. Good riddance.

Is that why he gave away 2 penalties in the opening 20 on Beau Ryan, 1 a shoulder charge another flopping in while Ryan was on the ground and looking to get a wee facial in ? He shouldn't be too concerned about Beau, who probably makes him look a bit smarter than what he actually is :p I found the whole thing pretty funny, would love to see him try and get a forward rather than a winger next time. Oh hang on he already did that while other people had Willie held

Nice story with the last part lol, should get a job with the telegraph ;)

Bolded bit never happened, that was a flat-out penalty for nothing by a couple of referees who were expecting something to happen.

May not have been a flop but he was definitely right up in his grill with a forearm extremely close

But to move onto the reffing, shit it was bad, that sort of effort from Klein and Perenara could cost blokes a few finals matches because they had zero control of the game and I was just waiting for it to erupt

Perenara is a great ref...

I love his grounding recommendations before he sends them upstairs to the video ref...

Always spot on...

Give him 1 v 4 of the first week I reckon...

Perenara is by far the best improving Referee. He did get some calls wrong however having a support pocket ref that is poor can really affect the main referees flow of things too.

Lets hurry up and revert back to 1 ref, too many chiefs no enough indians

As Long as B Suttor doesn't get our last two games. IMO by far he is the worst ref going.
Perenara I reckon is pretty decent in comparison to some (I didn't mention J Robinson)
