Scariest movie scene

Maybe the whole movie wasn't scary - but what is the scariest movie scene you can recall. One that honestly made you jump or scream or something.

In Fatal Attraction, when Glenn Close was supposed to be dead - but then she came one more time out of that tub, I nearly screamed right in the theatre.

I'm the biggest coward ever though.
I was even scared at the Chucky movies. That little doll freaked me out.

Michael Myers and his mask from Halloween 1-2 (4-5-6-7 etc were boring)
The way he walked and killed his victims was pretty scary at the time (i was only 8-9)

Glitter - whoever thought Mariah Carey could act should be shot. Without doubt the scariest thing I have ever watched.

Similar though this was a bit more graphic. The Nazi grabbed the chalice and drank from it thinking it was the one Jesus had drank from and it was the wrong one. he basically melted.....

A movie called Maniac has a scene in it where the killer is looking for a nurse hiding in the subway dunnies. Has you right on edge.

I usually avoid horror movies, but the shower scene in Psycho is probably the classic one. Also the last scene in Carrie, where the hand sticks up from the gravesite, made me jump.

The Exorcist in the lead up to when the mother finds out the director was "pushed" out the window (before the spiderwalk scene in the directors edition)...you see all these ghostly apparitions on the wall and it is really freaky...

the first attack in Jaws scared me as a kid

I was going to say that. We watched it for English at school a few years ago, and although it was black and white and had red paint and chocolate syrup for blood, it was actually kinda scary, what with the Music and all.
