Scomo saving me

Well Catholic schools are going against Govnt advice it seems. By the end of the week Id expect most schools to tell the govnt to get farkked.
As someone said....everything has turned to shit since scummo came in.

WTF>Seeing as all ScoMo's advice has come from the chief and deputy chief medical officers of this country ,blame them.Oh and the National Cabinet that gives the final approval ,consists of the inclusion of 5 Labor MPS.
The virus was called a pandemic by the Govt two weeks before the WHO eventually called it .
The Govt also stopped Chinese Nationals coming in early when the virus started. The Italian Govt did not and they got a catastrophe.

The Govt has stated again advised by top medial experts, closing all schools will mean an estimated 30,000 medical workers would not be available to assist with handling this virus.Singapore with low infection rates has not closed schools, and it has been effective to date.
Kids stay at home looked after by grandparents, who are most susceptible and possibly die.Yeah brilliant.

It reminds me of the clowns who bagged ScoMo for not being on top of the bushfires and not appearing regularly , then we get a dopey Shadow Labor minister complaining ScoMo appears too much on TV for Covid announcements. The idiocy of a gnat.

Closing schools is hard because it's basically child care for people who have to work.

Maybe they should tell people who are able to do it to keep their kids home.

Maybe they could start a national/state youtube service for kids to watch so they can do some work from home. Obviously that's complicated because not every school teaches exactly the same thing, but it would be better than nothing.

If only half or a quarter of the kids could stay home it would probably help minimise the spread.

There are no easy answers to any of this. We bumble through and see what works to an extent.

The biggest problem in regards to kids in this situation is that so lot of times they aren't showing symptoms, hence they become unknown carriers. That is the reason why people are putting it out there to close schools. It has the potential to spread like wild fire through them.
Nothing to do with people wanting the economy to drop, that is going to happen any way, it's already started.
I do get the reasons why people don't want the schools to stop, in regards to employment st home etc. It's a terrible tight rope happening.
I've talked to people in Spain and France, they are coping but they have all said to shut the schools. See h o w it goes eh.

The most pleasing thing is that the government and opposition seem to be largely on the same page, and reacting to expert advice in the national interests.

I’ve got one kid home with a sniffle and the other 2 at school and will continue to send them. I’m not hoarding and will be doing exactly what the government (not Karl f**king Stephanovic or anyone else) advises.

Any tips for Netflix or Foxtel?

In self isolation for 2 weeks.
Bloody scomo.
Geeze the airport looked like a scene from outbreak.
Doctors in full head to toe protection.
Face guards , gowns the lot.
Pretty scarey.
Welcome back! TINKERBELL and the lost boys have missed you. I RECOMEND THE MOVIE PETERPAN to wile away the hours.Disney version will leave you pondering lifes complexities for long after the credits roll

The last thing needed is party politics. That's the point .both the Govt ad Opposition are on the same hymn sheet. That's what the National Cabinet is all about.
The one thing that sh*ts me ,is the hoarding and punch ups going on at supermarkets.Coles Caringbah yesterday looked like a North Korean supermarket, bugger ball there.

Seriously, the Veronicas wanted to close down schools, next we'll get Austentayshus. Next I'll be taking medical advice from Buzz Rothfield.

Yeah probably mistakes being made but our elected govt does seem to genuinely try to listen to EXPERTS and make right calls on short term crisis.Pity they can't do same on longer term crisis.

They have been late on crowds and self isolation. I still don’t trust our governments on this sort of problem. I’m on second round of chemo next week ,I’m taking a 1.5m piece of dowel with me just for distance measurement. There are a lot of sick people in hospitals!

Good luck mate.I've just come out of Prince of Wales 12th Feb after getting a mechanical mitral valve in my ticker.
You need to take extra special care.I wear a mask, steer clear of supermarkets.I hope you are wearing a mask mate, in all seriousness.

My sincerest best wishes to you carinashark. My mate is also in self isolation due to being IC due to his medication, he's about 50% so very dangerous for him. I am his gopher at the moment but he does have family nearby to drop stuff at his door as well. Hope you have access to that kind of support as well. Cheers.

Best of luck with it and stay positive - My advice, don’t turn on the TV, more bull dust being sprouted on the commercial networks than this thread. All the best

And another thing , the reason people are panic buying is because no one trusts this government, funny because they voted for them And right wing conservative governments encourage to bully the less well off....
