Knights protocol for signings is to deny they are chasing anyone. Has been ever since 2012 when Tinks took over. I think Toohey exagerates at times in regards to our cap situation. Smith is a great player but he is not worth an upgrade at 35. He isn't a quarterback in his prime.

Also I wouldn't be surprised if it was Scott's management that approached the Eels. His son is receiving treatment at Westmead so Parra is the logical choice.

With Rochow out for 8 weeks I woiuld be throwing a lifeline to Paul Carter. He is a fantastic forward and is tough as they come. If he keeps his nose clean this year, would make an excellent replacement for Scott.
