Good luck to Manly, they have the vision and talent scouts to know what required when it comes to building a premiership winning team, unlike our mickey mouse operators.

I dont care what press statement our club releases today, we have lost one of our most talented kids ever. The line outlining the fact he has not played 1st grade is another f**king joke! No wonder he has left, and what did we offer him, probably something ion the order of 85K. Yet another f**king joke.

I'm done with following lower grades, there's clearly no point anymore.

Good to finally get a good junior player instead of losing them, ie Aaron Groom, Daniel Harrison, Kennedy boys etc.

Watmough, Menzies, Cuthbertson, King and 18th man this week - Mauro

Plus a few other who have been given their 1st grade start at Manly - B Stewart, G Stewart , Bani, Matai, Ballin - and recently - Afamasaga, Neumann, Rose and a few others.

We dont do so bad, go through your own team and work out who the locally born juniors are?

shows how much you know. Afamasaga was a parra junior

Oh you merkins....good luck to the bloke, he's an immense talent, but ffs stop poaching our juniors :fist:

In all serious....Parra's management deserve to hang from the yard arm for this...

I feel sorry for Parramatta fans, but you have to understand that we have lost our best juniors (which have been small in numbers) to other clubs like Garts said.
There is no loyalty any more. Fans need to stop getting so attached to players, unfortunately thats just a sign of the times.
Daniel Harrison pissed off to the Bulldogs for more money and is their best player.
Groom dominated Jersey Flegg for a few years.
Kennedy brothers are carving up for the Dragons in NYC.

Hopefully Foran, Hargreaves, and Cherry-Evans stay with Manly but its likely one or two will be poached.

Can't blame Manly for signing Williams.

In all honestly though they play the rugby league game better than a lot of other clubs pure and simple. I don't begrudge Manly the signing of Williams in the slightest - if they have the foresight to wrap him up then so be it. They have tried to sign the likes of Gallen, Simpson and a few other back rowers for some time. They played the game the way it should be played and looked to the future rather than just next year.

We did too with Hayne and Inu but I bet you Manly got the better deal out of the Williams deal rather than the managers of Hayne and Inu.

There is no doubt he would have signed for first grade money but in my opinion if the Parramatta club had the right people in the right positions doing the negotiations they would have wrapped Tony Williams up to a long term deal at about the same time they re-signed Hayne and Inu.

Don't blame Manly for taking Williams or Cronulla for taking Mannah. Or either of the players. I blame Parramatta for running this club into the ground.

"Hey, Tony and Johnny - next big things, are yas? Well...OK, Wags and Caylo, here yas go - lifetime, multi-million dollar deals! Wassat? No money for youse young blokes? Ah, f**k...."

I know he played junior footy at parra, i just didnt think hed played 1st grade for em before he had come to manly. And on the Parra junior bit, wasnt he picked up from NZ the same time SBW was picked up, i remember reading something along those lines?

Groom was considered to be our long term solution at halfback. He played alot of hooker in his final season here because 'turnstyle' doesn't even begin to describe his defensive style.

Well with us it was a choice between Tim Smith or Blake Green. We chose Smith, now both have gone. So now we have settled for Finch.

Was Groom rated highly before he left for the Dogs ?

Oh yeah!! I can't remember ever hearing so much excitment about a Manly junior before Groom. He destroyed Jersey Flegg, however, in his last year at Manly he was playing Premier League and I don't think he was setting the world on fire. It was still a big loss for us and he could still go on to do some big things for the dogs.
