So, who will captain the team this
For the captain this year I hope sheens goes with what he sees rather than what’s been…..From seeing Paps on the Benji show he’s very intelligent. He’s a very confident and calm speaker . He’s a tough, never give up, fearless Chinese tiger. Also, he’s on the cusp of Virgo / Libran where many great leaders have resided. He’s obviously been underestimated in the past. Hopefully sheens sees his leadership quality’s in the sheds. Assuming Ice is willing.

I know disagreements aren’t allowed on here becoz posters might get upset..although the best discussions face to face are mostly disagreements…Offa is a nice guy amen, and a good player but when players Fk up or get lazy, is he going to give them a quiet blast to make them focus out of fear? Api - I think he proved with his silly WT comments sitting on stage end of last year , that he’s not man enough(as in man/boy) to be captain full time, on and off the field. …great player but, and he can make a bit of noise (that’s not enough)

For a while now our captains have been Madge induced eunichs..so we’ve settled for average joe captains (excuse the pun). We need a captain that will frighten, motivate and love, to get the win in the toughest of circumstances... Not from luck, but consistently..That’s how we break through the 8 then the 4….Tough ask.

So no different to Wobbie sooking behind the posts when he was captain?
Ah he speaks…see it’s working already. Thats a little bit different. That's the other extreme. Although putting that in the mix wouldn’t hurt. I think most of those soft clocks have left the club. All but one.

But in answer to your question fear of losing. Fear of getting told off again for going to sleep on the job..Fear of not putting in 100% for the whole game..Fear of not sticking to the game plan. Fear of making stupid mistakes. Fear of letting the team down. Fear of missing a tackle. Have you not had enough of that crap from our players.

What is a little bit different?

But to answer your question, the soft clocks are back and are the three amigos in charge.

Can you tell me who Benji has allocated lunch duties to this year?

“So no different to Wobby….” “It’s a little bit different” Prob right this is a bit difficult to disagree on here. It just descends into booring, same old same old,…I’ll save it for face to face ..lovely chatting

Ok so that’s all you got out of it.. Being an ex teacher you ought have gotten more

Who's an ex teacher...you or me? Listen...I read your post and took in your opinion about Ofa and Api ok...the point about performing by way of fearing an individual from or around your team whether it be a captain or coach has been a myth since the days of Leo Nosworthy otherwise we would have improved every year under fire and brimstone Michael Maguire. The rest of your list of fears would and should be answered by any player worthy of playing first grade when asked during their first interview irrespective of who his captain or coach was going to be.

There you go..Madge was mad fear. That doesn’t work. We are surrounded by fear mate. Without it we wouldn’t get up in the morning and without it players would hit the piss before a game. There is no avoiding it. It’s a matter of using it to motivate with tact when it’s needed. And combining it with encouragement and praise when that’s deserved..I’m thinking the school environment is the perfect example of this…

You posted to that Belligerent troll ..I think an Easts fan that was going on about Us being too old and the club useless like out of the blue. He was just a real smart arse about 2-3 months ago ….you two were chatting away while the rest of us were going at it …then he asked if u knew maths and you said yea you used to teach it. I remember thinking that didn’t surprise me. You must have been pulling his leg..

Yep...I know what you're getting at ...when it was a train Tues and Thurs night working g guys game a warrior type captain would pull them over the line but now they just need to do their job as the fulltime NRL professionals they're paid to be. Keep in mind that Panthers made the first of their recent 3 grand finals with James Tamou as captain and that's not meant with any disrespect to him. If I were coaching i'd want my captain to be quietly in the refs ear when needed...thus in the middle and to be respected as a grown man and leader by his teammates but just as importantly by the referees...Cameron Smith... Boyd Cordner.as examples.
LOL at the teacher story .....I can't recall who my rival club adversary was and what it was about but i do remember he was getting really hostile and tried a checkmate I.Q. move by telling me he passed 4 unit English / maths ? ( I think it was) with a coupe de grace thrust to the heart of " so how did you do ??" I told him I TAUGHT 5 unit English but you remember maths so maths it was then... I don't recall hearing from him again so i guess he may have believed me LOL again. Anyway...no.. certainly not a teacher ...ex or current but thank you for thinking I may have been....I'm flattered :)

Just fixed half a dozen typos...sorry for the hyrogliphics of the first effort
