Second chances - Danny Wicks

Did you even read the article? He's sitting at 106kg of what looks like mostly muscle. Put an off season of first grade training into him and he'd be plenty big and strong enough.

If you don't want the guy, that's fine. Why don't you just say that rather than making up shit that doesn't make sense? Regardless, if you haven't noticed yet - the speed of the game this year is lending itself to more mobile, rangy forwards.

... and just as another note - who is it in the NRL that Hargreaves can't smash into oblivion? The dude is an absolutely massive weapon.

Whens ur next UFC angry keyboard man?

Not sure how anyone would go after 4 and 1/ 2 years out. Be good if WADA let him come back early before June 30 so at least he could play some group 2 games to see if he is even close to coming back to NRL standard.

The clock is ticking pretty fast for a 28 year old.

Wicks was mentioned on NRL 360 earlier. Paul Kent said he could see it as a redemption story. Hopefully if we do choose to sign him most people will see it in the same way.

I say we go for it. He will have a full off season under his belt and plenty of motivation. We need to find someone big upfront and he could play his part next year.

The only way I think it would work would be to get a clearance from WADA / ASDA straight away and get him into the real NRL now, training with the NSW cup team for the balance of the year and if he aims up, perhaps he gets a run later in the year. Then a full offseason and see what happens.

I have no issue with Wicksy coming back but if I recall correctly we were all complaining about his lazy play before the drug thing even came up. If he was lousy back then why would he be any better after being out it the game for so long?

I dont know whether he'll ever come back and I am ambivalent to the whole issue but I do believe that if he was given a second chance, he will be far more motivated than he first the first time around.

He was dealing elephant juice, not raping and murdering kittens. f**k the PR. If he can play and help us win, I'd take him even with the kitten killing against his name.

Give him a shot on incentives and see what he can do. Can't hurt.

He's signed with the Eels.

I'm bummed about this. He wouldn't be on a big salary and he has the talent to be a rep player.

Rep player??? Really?????

If he has his head screwed on straight he could be anything IMO

By all reports he is heaps fitter than when he was with us, and at his best he was a beast, just let down by attitude.

If that is fixed he could be an awesome buy.

Rep player? No. Quality player? Yeah.

It doesn't really bother me he's headed to Parra. With his history, I just don't think it's best for the image of the club but best of luck to him.

I actually wonder if he will get a start in the centres at Parra. I can see him being a bench utility. He has the skill and speed to cover the back row, front row and centre.

Are you on some of his gear? ;)

He did enough damage to our great club. More than happy for him to f**k over Parramatta.

I think he'll keep his nose clean from here on out. I don't know how good he'll be tbh, but he's low risk and presumably low cost. We'll be ok without him.
