Well Australia have lost a couple of wickets now. I still think there definately could be a result.

I think we are in trouble here. India need 230 and i know that it is a tricky target, but i dont think it will be enough. I would be quite happy to be proved wrong though.

Bugger.

Watching the Aussies bat today, the pitch could not be blamed for any of our wickets.

Not good batting.

There still seems to be plenty of bounce in the wicket and it seems to be playing pretty well.

I would rather be in India shoes than ours, at end of day 4.

The wicket will dry out further, with 39 degrees predicted. Just like batting in Calcutta.

CARN THE INDIANS

AGURKAR! LMAO...ITS AH-GAR-KAR...Im sure the commentary team does that on purpose. cos every now and then one of them pronounces it correctly. AJ Greig cant do anything but pronounce it kinda right. AGORKOR

That's been irritating me too. One time one of them actually said it AH-GAR-KAR then went "Sorry, AGURKAR."

I think the correct pronounciation is A JERKER.

Agarker has had an ordinary career and it is no coincidence that he doubles his best Test bowling performance against Australia when Australia bats that poorly. You will notice that of the batsmen, too many got out attacking.

Langer - LBW to a good ball that Langer has proven he struggles against.
Hayden - caught after lolly-popping a catch to cover (out of the rough)
Ponting - cutting at the ball, in full attack mode when he hadn't got off the mark.
Martyn - as always, caught at slip, but by a good catch.
Waugh - a rugged innings undone by a big leg-break (why can't MacGill do this?)
Katich - out Hooking in a situation where he didn't need to hook.
Gilchrist - bowled, trying to sweep Kumble

Anyone else see the pattern - Australia's batsmen shot themselves in the foot because they wanted to win the Test match so much they decided the best method was to attack on balls that we'ren't there to be attacked.

Weigh that up with Dravid and Laxman who were slow in their 303 run partnership, but gave few chances and left anything that wasn't there to be hit.

Australia botched this Test match themselves - combine that with a bowling attack struggling to tie the batsmen down like McGrath and Warne could always do, and with no strike weapons (like a Brett Lee) - and Australia are struggling.

1-0 with two to come doesn't read too well, but it's their own fault. Out-batted by Indians who somehow knew how to play Australian conditions better than the locals.

It was frustrating watching the Australians bat yesterday. No-one seemed to show any patience at all - I would have thought that in this situation, occupation of the crease would have been as important as runs.

As it stands now, the Aussie second innings was littered with careless shots that cost wickets. With a top score in the mid 40's & a target of only around 220 (190 now) & a whole day to reach it, the Aussies have given the Indians a quality chance of striking first in this series.

I hope I'm proved wrong but I am pretty sure that the Indian bats will be selective in their shots & reach the target quite comfortably...

Cheers,
Ben S.

I agree, but I too hope we're both wrong.

Dravid and Laxman built their entire innings from selective shots, and patience. The ability to concentrate for 9 hours is incredible, but to not be able to concentrate for two sessions (and no batsman lasted that long anyway) is fairly pathetic from Australia's batsmen.

A whole day to make about 190-200, with 10 wickets in hand, on a pitch that won't play too much of a role and against an attack depleted but also not keeping sides tied down - sounds easy for India.

Frustrated is the ideal word to use.

The most irritating is how they say "lax-man". If anyone bothered asking him or any Indian how to say his last name they will tell you its pronounced "luch-man". I've only ever heard only Aussie commentator say it properly and he's on abc radio.

Well done India.

Aussies lost it on day 4 with an inept batting performance.

Going to be an interresting bowling attack in the 3rd, with possibly no Dizzy or Brad Wiliams.

Bowling attack will probably be an under done Brett Lee, Baby Face Bracken and Grandma Bichel...........oh and I nearly forgot McGilla.

MacGill should be dropped. He is terrible. Bring in Hoggy. He mite not be better as a bowler but i at least like him and he wont do any worse than this hack of a bowler.

Lets trade him to Bangladesh for a goat. :-k

Drop MacGill? His bowling was unreal today in 39 degree heat. And Hogg!?!?!?!? My God what are you smoking??? My prediction for the bowling attack in the 3rd is:

8-Bichel
9-Lee (If he's not fit then Matty Nicholson)
10-Bracken
11-MacGill
