AGURKAR! LMAO...ITS AH-GAR-KAR...Im sure the commentary team does that on purpose. cos every now and then one of them pronounces it correctly. AJ Greig cant do anything but pronounce it kinda right. AGORKOR
That's been irritating me too. One time one of them actually said it AH-GAR-KAR then went "Sorry, AGURKAR."
I think the correct pronounciation is A JERKER.
Agarker has had an ordinary career and it is no coincidence that he doubles his best Test bowling performance against Australia when Australia bats that poorly. You will notice that of the batsmen, too many got out attacking.
Langer - LBW to a good ball that Langer has proven he struggles against.
Hayden - caught after lolly-popping a catch to cover (out of the rough)
Ponting - cutting at the ball, in full attack mode when he hadn't got off the mark.
Martyn - as always, caught at slip, but by a good catch.
Waugh - a rugged innings undone by a big leg-break (why can't MacGill do this?)
Katich - out Hooking in a situation where he didn't need to hook.
Gilchrist - bowled, trying to sweep Kumble
Anyone else see the pattern - Australia's batsmen shot themselves in the foot because they wanted to win the Test match so much they decided the best method was to attack on balls that we'ren't there to be attacked.
Weigh that up with Dravid and Laxman who were slow in their 303 run partnership, but gave few chances and left anything that wasn't there to be hit.
Australia botched this Test match themselves - combine that with a bowling attack struggling to tie the batsmen down like McGrath and Warne could always do, and with no strike weapons (like a Brett Lee) - and Australia are struggling.
1-0 with two to come doesn't read too well, but it's their own fault. Out-batted by Indians who somehow knew how to play Australian conditions better than the locals.
