Gee some interesting things have been said on this thread. Will he/won't he be suspended. Should he be or not be suspended?
Some great !! lines by esteem journalists, such as "Billy Slater has done so many wonderful things for rugby league" like that makes it all ok.
My favourite though is
Case in point: Greg McCallum (10 years at NRL match review chief) declared the NRL has made the right call. Asked if Slater's raising of his right arm as he collides with Feki could help his clause, was unequivocal, "No, it needs to be a wrapping action with your arms:, he said. "Putting your hand up is not considered wrapping your arms around a ball-carrier.:
But then former judiciary head Paul Conlon says: "Slater was at maximum speed along the try line and no doubt factoring in a possible step back inside by Feki." and “What he actually did could not be actually said to involve unacceptable risk of injury. There was no contact with the head of Feki - therefore no danger.
“For the sake of the game of RL, I hope an experienced and sensible judiciary panel will see it that way.”
Then players have an opinion, Issac Luke says; “I reckon he should play,” “No matter what the crime is... Because that last week sucks not being apart (sic) of it" WOW no matter the crime !!! I wonder what his opinion would be if the Warriors were playing the Storm next weekend.
Then the Cronulla coach “100 percent he should be there, as I said in the game he runs across and I thought whether it was his right or left arm there in a push motion so he’ll be there next week, or he should be.” What if it was Cronulla playing Storm in the GF? I bet it would be a no comment, comment.
No matter what, it will be a case of,
If the NRL is consistent at anything it’s being inconsistent.

and it's because too many people in NRL related positions, past and present have an opinion. I just hope that no one in a position that is going to decide Slater's fate, reads a newspaper, listens to a radio or takes a phone call from an old friend who has an opinion in the next few days.If the NRL is consistent at anything it’s being inconsistent.
