Not surprising decision really given how the NRL operate. Just change the rule when it suits. Their case that it was somehow Fekis fault is almost as funny as the Rabbits attempt to blame the Chooks for the photo scandal.

And yet Napa was banned for a head clash and when he argued that it was because the ball carrier changed direction he was laughed at.

The NRL will get the Storm home and have their fairytale

Swings and roundabouts mate. Brett Finch, while playing for the Roosters, dumped Clinton Schifcofske on his head and then successfully argued that Schif speared himself into the ground.

You win some, you lose some

For all the wailing and gnashing of teeth from Roosters fans, only one team will be putting a convicted sex offender on the park this Sunday, and it’s not the boys in purple.

Personally I think common sense prevailed but if you were following the rules probably should be suspension.

The rule needs tweaking now because any winger going for the corner the fullback will use his shoulder now to knock him out and use the Billy Slater defense in court.

Also are they saying the Slater tackle was actually a legal tackle and should not have even been a penalty? Are they now saying the penalty was incorrect? The statement seemed to say Feki was more at fault which is ridiculous.

And lastly who are the judges ex Rugby League players or people who have a law degree and look at the rule and judge it it on the rule. Otherwise any ex player will surely have sympathy for a player in Billy's situation.

Yes

He was penalised for a shoulder charge and the judiciary said it wasn't a shoulder charge.

So open slather this weekend.

Pretty much yeah open slather to make shoulder charges where the first impact is with your hand and pec. Not sure the logistics of how to deliver such a hit but it will surely be entertaining.

I'm glad he is playing.
Should be a cracking game. Very grubby. A little rain during the game would spice things right up too.

Oh and awesome thread a big thank you to all those who contributed.

Shoulders won't be unleashed in the GF. Neither side will shake up their defensive style 5 days out from the big one. merkins would do anything to save a try next weekend regardless of tonights outcome.

So many in the media and on here now expecting wholesale changes to the shoulder charge rule.
It won’t happen.
The nrl reserves the right to arbitrarily and randomly apply it’s own rules when and how it suits whatever agenda or bias they have.
There are simply no certainties in the nrl. Not with off field player sanctions. Not with on field rules. Not with salary cap rort sanctions. Not with refereeing howlers. The reality is people continue to watch despite whatever shit they dish up. They know it.
