Can’t wait for the first player to be penalised for shoulder charge and say to the ref “but sir, I hit him with me pekka first”

I remember watching league in the 70`s ,it was ferocious. 80`s a bit of glamour. now its like Home and Away , a soap opera
indeed, the players may have been less athletic than today but they were hard men who played with passion and loyalty was still an admired virtue. The game today reflects the direction of society, more concerned about the fluff than the substance. In an effort to broaden the games appeal they've sanitized it almost out of existence. The fun police rein supreme. Who gives a flying f**k if some players took their cloths off and run amok ? seriously ......

Bring back the biff, the shoulder charge, lower the interchange and give me back my game.

How much arms did Waqa Blake use? The answer is none.

If you think his tackle was fine then you can't complain when judgement calls on grey areas come in. Clearly you don't think Blake's tackle was what the shoulder charge law was brought in for. Plenty out there agree the same for Slater's tackle. Neither were vicious front-on shoulders looking to snap the runner's head back.

By Bellew's directions tonight, Blake absolutely should have been suspended just as much as Slater.
Which tackle merkin? Give the audience some context. Pics, vids etc

Regardless of the result I can’t wait to see that f**king rule changed for good now. Shoulder to shoulder should always be fair game

Whilst I think he should have been banned under the current interpretations, I'm glad these tackles are now legal by precedent, as in reality, it is a fantastic tackle, and exactly the sort of play we want in the game. I'd love for it to prompt a full review of shoulder charge rules, but it won't.

The most likely outcome will be that in a few weeks time, when the dust has settled, outrage calmed and when it's safe to come out, Greenberg will announce that they've done a review and that whilst the decision of the panel wasn't incorrect due to some ambiguity, the loopholes have been closed now and the rule will be more vigorously followed to prevent confusion in the future (Napa head tackle style). But he'll wait long enough to avoid the backlash he'd get if he came out with that statement now.
