Tigers only club looking for coach in 2019....

Surely Dragons have to consider their options for 2020 w so many good coaches on the market......thing is they cant announce a new coach till after the season as they dont want to unsettle 2019 campaign - so the official word has to be from the club that we wont be looking to announce 2020 coach till end of season...we dont want the coaching media circus unsettling the team...unless

they resign Mcgregor early!!!!!

Sack Mary today, sign Bennett tomorrow. Then watch the Dragons breath fire in 2019. WIN and St George have the coin to do this.

Mary to the Tigers - he'd like 2019 on double pay!

Wish our club that proactive to take the first step.
Under previous club management, our club was the leader of making things happen but this kind of action has dwindled dramatically over the years.

5. Maguire to the Tigers and still be NZ coach.
6. Bennett wont come back to the Dragons.
7. Demetriou will serve 1 more year (end of his contract) under either Bennett or Seibold. There will probably be coaching opportunities especially at The Eels where Arthurs contract expires next year and has only a 45% win rate.
8. Like Benett, Demetriou wont come back to the Dragons.

Like the player market at the moment the coaching circus us about to go into overdrive. I hope our Board is enjoying there "holiday" so to speak.

Agree with most of what you say DS.
My guess is:
1) As soon as Hasler is appointed 1st grade coach Barrett has a legal get out and walks.
2) Siebold doesn't commit to Souths by extending and is punted...... to Brisbane for 2019.
3) Bennett gets his payout and is also punted (Can't decide where he goes, hopefully to Saints)
I think Bennett would come but the Dragons management may not have the balls to make the change.
Don't care about Wests or Penrith, Cleary couldn't do it before at the Panthers, only improved things marginally for the Tigers after a buying spree and he won't do it next year either.
I think Maguire will be good for the Tigers.

Lets hope we pick up some juicy scraps like Taupau, Rapana, Norman, Leilua to get us there for next year.

Bennett will get us there in 2019. Sign Bennett and the rest will fall into place.

Don’t care about the rest, McGregor had had 5 years at the end of next year. I feel I can safely say we won’t win a premiership with him so time to move on. Bennett or Demetriou IMO.

It'll be 5 years in May 2019, not end of next year.

What frustrates me the most is that regardless of what is happening within or outside the club, we fans hear nothing.

Their is a complete lack of accountability.
They have been jockeying for positions within the club but, as you say, nothing changes.

And you thought Saints treated Demitriou bad, can't be worse than the Bronco's. Poach him from the Saints as Bennett's assistant which you would think he would get first dibs on if Bennett leaves and then when they do decide to move Bennett on, give the job to the Souths coach. I would be gutted if I was Demitriou. Surely he would have thought he had more chance of replacing Mary than Bennett unless he was told some porkies by the Bronco's to go there instead.

Saints should move for Demitriou ASAP as Mary's "Assistant" to keep Mary on his toes next season.

Disagree. We are only short one high quality winger. The rest of the puzzle pieces are there under a good coach, which is particularly needed for Dufty's development as he has more potential.

Lomax/Marsters have similar potential to Easts centre pairing - with the right coaching and mentoring.

Dragons are a conundrum - know one knows what they're thinking - i cant see them sacking Mcgregor next year not at least till end of season - so they will panic because there's no quality coaches in their mind available and they'll offer Mcgregor a 2 year extension by round 10....
