Semi final alleigances

Caged Panther

As a penrith fan at this time of year I usually find myself throwing my alleigances behind some other team. This year I am happy to say I have no such need, anyway just curious which people from non semi bound clubs are throwing their support behind what teams and why.

If the panthers weren't in there I would tend to be going for probably the warriors or raiders because:

1. I hate the roosters, and broncos

2. Although they have pay for their crimes the bulldogs side is as strong as it is because they rorted the salary cap.

3. Melbourne as a team does nothing for me other then invoke a "ehh" sensation.

4. I don't rate the knights without andrew johns (though they are starting to convince me otherwise)

if canberra wernt there i would be throwing my weight behind

Penrith because i live in the Penrith area and have all my life
Not brisbane, Newcastle, Roosters or Bulldogs cause i dispise them
Storm would be behind penrith because i like the underdogs
If Canberra, Penrith, Nth QLD and Strom were all out i would go for the lesser evils in each game

Well its a rare year for me to have to pick another team to get behind in the finals. I think its the 2nd time in memory my side hasn't made the finals since I started following footy seriously.

Anyway, I love watching the Warriors, because of their fast ball movement, charging runs from guys like Mr Effective, and hits from the likes of Villasanti and Meli. So its Warriors for mine, followed by Penrith, as its almost like watching the Sharks of old. I'd also like to see Melbourne or Canberra do well. Hopefully they wont draw each other, as it would be a ghost town in the stadium. I hope the others crash and burn. I am planning on going to a couple of the finals, and I hope the NRL makes a real effort to fill the stadiums for the preliminary finals. We should do better than 35000 and 50000 for the 2 games on the second last weekend of the season.

Now come on Saints fans, who will you be going for. You've now had a few hours to think about it. ;-)

I thought for a moment Knights might not be there and if that was the case i think Raiders would be my choice only beacuse of what Elliot has done to that team, its quiet amazing, and after seeing them on friday i think they can do it.

If the Raiders weren't in it I'd probebly back either the Warriors or Penrith. I hate the Knights, Broncos (although starting to feel sorry for 'em  ) and the bulldogs.

If Parra are out i'll throw my weight behind the Warriors and Panthers.

I stood and cheered quite loudly when Meli scored the last try in yesterdays game. It might have something to do with the way I feel about the Roosters.

If the warriors are gone in the first round of the finals then definitely Penrith. This years team remind me of last years Warriors.

Isn't it cricket season yet??

I don't usually go for teams, rather I barrack against teams. I am death riding C*nterbury, Easts and the Broncos...

Cheers,
Ben S.

Legend, wasn't Sione who put the left footed kick through? Still think he's a nuffy?

Not as much Joe but he fits the Warriors style of play much more than he did the Raiders. Good luck to the bloke and the Warriors and I'm glad we won't have to play the Warriors in the first semi.

I might be wrong but isn't it still possible that we could meet in the first semi?

there are may outcomes that would see Raiders V Warriors, the most likly of them all is:

warriors, bulldogs and roosters win and the storm lose then we will finish 4th and you guys should finish 5th thus we play you blokes

however its all highly unlikly
