Who exactly choked? Löw changed tactics and formation for this one game, played Kroos on the right of a compact midfield, had Boateng a CB being used as a service crosser, playing Podolski over Schürrle and this was after he'd Changed things against Greece and people say they choked lol playing a compact formation 4-5-1 is not the style that suits the players he chose. Löw chose a versatile and attack orientated squad and then chose to play a mirror image of a cautious opponent.

Players getting blamed when the manager stuffed up royally but Löw is untouchable and immune to criticism and morons just throwing the choke word around.

Hard to argue with that.

That was probably the worst front three he could have started with out of all the combinations he had. Kroos should be a deputy for one of the central midfielders, not one of the main attacking men.

He was obviously selected there to help deal with Pirlo (despite Loew insisting he wouldn't changed his tactics to combat him) and make up for Gomez's workrate. He could have easily avoided the need to do that by selecting Klose instead, also making room for Mueller. Podolski too was awful and should have been left out for Reus.

Against a high quality opponent and with a young team, Loew could not afford to not get things right from the start.

Germany needed to persist with more intricate passes to feet in and around the box and on the few occasions they did this they looked half-dangerous.

The last tactical error Löw made was against Spain in 2010. He either doesn't trust his own system or players in crucial games or he over analyses the games.

Reus/Müller on the right, Schürrle on the left. Boateng & Badstuber in the centre of defence. Lahm on the right where he belongs, Schmelzer (who Löw does not trust) on the left. Hummels was an embarrassment but it is comforting knowing worst on the pitch was a BvB player.

Schweinsteiger has not been fully fit since the Man City game and truthfully probably should not have played the tournament, he was stuffed this morning and his lack of fitness showed. This was a major error in a key game. Half fit players do not cut it in crucial games.

Lahm is not captain material and that goes for Bayern he's just a very good player. This is another error. I'm not sure just who is captain material because in Germany there are not many experienced leaders in the set up. Schweinsteiger is also not a captain.

Löw said Neuer was better than Buffon offensively. What does that even mean? Nobody gave away more errant passes than Neuer in the game.

All the factors above as to why Germany were not in a position to win are down to the manager and that isn't choking. Italy were superior in all aspects from tactics to playing. Spain are playing like Germany did in 2008 and will have to really save the best for last to win EM12 because Italy have proven class at a tournament once again.

why is it that every team that doesn't win gets accused of choking ?
Because people are stupid.

Is this answer. Like this guy...

If Germany lost to a shit team like, say, England, then you could call that a choke as they are a vastly inferior side. Italy are clearly not.

You could argue the manager choked? ;-)

I don't know why he changed the system so much. Italy play a diamond mid and with the passers like Sweni and Khedira a couple of wide players would really expose that system. England couldn't due to the uselessness of Gerrard and Parker but i'm sure Germany could of.

If you are worried about Pirlo ask the deep forward to drop back when you have not got the ball.

Your fears about the German defence came true. Cassano was turned to easy and as for the second goal, oh dear.

You have to admit TT, Germany were blown off the park when it counted. They just didn't show up.

Underperforming when the pressure is on - definition of a choke.

They could of played well and lost but instead folded like a pack of cards. Regardless of the quality of the opposition they played well below their best.
