Keith Senior was supposed to be in Australia with the squad last week but was given special dispensation to fly out later (today)
He has some major marital problems.

Yeaman will now have to be named in the team to play against Newcastle's rep team this weekend.

Not sure about that mate because the Hull and Saints players are resting from the game, they aren't out here til thursday so i'd say Reardon may play in the centres.

Poor guy, bad timing.

At least it gives someone from the stand-in squad a start in that first game.

This may well explain his lack of effectiveness throughout the season for Leeds.

If his head is not together they should cut him altogether and go with Yeaman.

Yeaman is nowhere near as effective as he was before his injury. Still think hes not fully fit.

Yeman looked like he was getting back to form in the last few weeks. He still found the try line which seems to be something he can do on a regular basis. I'm still not sure why Yeaman is any good. He's not big, I don't think he's especially fast, I don't think he's got especially good footwork, he doesn't do a lot of work in his own half or in defence and he doesn't appear to be a ball handling Matt Gidley type try assisting centre. Yet he's really good. He scores almost every game and often does well to get across the line. He's a bit like Richard Horne, no obvious ability, except he just gets in the right position and goes hard.

Interestingly Senior has been named but i still dont think he is here yet, maybe tonight.
Terry Newton has not been selected with Micky Higham given a chance at hooker.

Very happy that Higham has been given a shot.
We cant afford to lose a centre during the tournament. After Senior, Gleeson and Yeaman would you go with Lee Gilmour?

Leon Pryce would be an option and i know some Hull fans believe Richard Horne's best position is centre.

Gilmour could be an option. I think Horne would really be a fullback/five eighth option, he has great running and passing skills.

I'd suggest a radical switch for Wellens and put him in the centres. His strengths have been to read the play well and position himself well in defense, a sound tackler technically, is a competent passer. However he's never really had the pace in attack to threaten the opposition at international level, even though he may have improved this year. He is a plodder.

Wellens played wing for England in RLWC 2000 and played well. His predecessor Radlinski was a similar style player, both remind me of Ivan Cleary in their style. Radlinski argaubly played his best footy for GB in the centres in 1996 and 1997, and I think Wellens will do the same.

Wellens would play well anywhere. But I think his lack of pace would be exposed out there more than anywhere. It doesn't matter too much at fullback as he is always in the right spot, but he would be completely vulnerable on the wing to kicks in behind him.
