I'm surprised you don't remember.

The old NSWRL put on a League-a-thon at the SCG.
It was a triple header. All I remember was Parra played Manly. I think we got beat.
I also vaguely remember that the Bulldogs played, and Souths and he Tigers.
I was only 13. (will ignore Redgum song comparisons)

There were two triple headers at the SCG over the Anzac weekend in '78.

Sunday 23rd April.....

Manly beat Parra 27-15
Balmain beat Wests 24-14
Canterbury beats Souths 24-10

Tuesday 25th April

Norths beat newtown 16-5
Cronulla beat Penrith 25-9
Easts beat St George 22-6.

When you mentioned the League - a - thon, I thought you were talking about the event in the 70's / 80's where they had players from each club, competing in events like, the longest punt, goal kick, fastest over 100 etc.

Do you remember that? I think Larry Corowa (Balmain) was the quickest, and someone Mullins (Easts) had the biggest punt kick !
