I was at the game on Saturday and expecting a huge crowd (which there was, congratulations to all that went) and a competition between the Dragon Army and the Sharks Army. The only time I heard a whisper of a sharks chant was when the announcer told you all to back your team up!!!

Is Shark Park always that dead??? If it wasn't for the dragons army, you would have been able to hear a coin fall across the other side of the ground. Obviously the sharks team didn't turn up to play and were out-classed in every possible way from the first second, but is it always like that??

There were multiple chants of Sharkies, Sharkies on the beer hill

On the other hand I didnt hear any chanting from the Dragons mob

Regardless, this isnt English soccer, it's a football game, not a singing competition and I couldnt care less anyway

Now get your homework done before your 7:30 bed time, little girl.

I can only answer from the TV (I did listen to the crowd a few times with the Foxtel Digital audio crowd mode) and though the Sharks were getting a touch up it still come across as mainly the home fans making the noise.
Of course you heard and saw the Queens fans go off when they scored but you always hear any fans whenever they score and wherever they play.
It sounded like a pretty good atmosphere and I never noticed it to be quiet at all.
I suppose its where they place the effects microphones.

I did notice that we werent talkin alot but as said it aint a soccer match. We supported when it was needed most. I didnt really hear to much from Dragons really, first try they went off, after it went quiet.

And in comes dimitri with the sole laughing icon knowing how totally foolish he made himself look every time he attempted to lash out a funny one-liner time after utter time. Props to the poor fellow who made himself look more foolish than we did on the weekend. You've learnt well.

from the ET stand, the beer hill drowned out the dragin army many times, and vice versa, certainly wasnt silent though mate, it all depends on where you sit I guess.

i dont suppose it helps that one team was up 18 to blot ina short time....I wonder if the dragon army would be as vocal had the situation reversed.

I think in all seriousness if we got 18 nil up they would all be leaving! Alls well when their winning but we've seen b4 how they get when it goes the other way.

Can u stop challenging everything i say, contribute, add or raise an new issue!! And just to answer your question none the less I recall conflicts between the two clubs supporters (St George and Illawarra) when games were not going their way. Wouldnt this be regarded as seeing 'b4 how they get when it goes the other way'???

I'm with Red V here. I think the atmosphere at Shark Park this year has been shocking. It may have something to do with where I've been standing all year, in the south east corner, but there has been very little enthusiasm from the average man on the hill this year. The only game we've got fired up for was against Canberra, but i was over next to the ET stand for that game, and maybe they are a bit more passsionate in that corner?

There seems very little effort to lift our team when we get behind. I think the average Shark fan either gives up, or would rather start slagging them off. The fact that atleast half the crowd is usually standing chatting with their mates, some of who have little interest in the game, makes for a very diluted atmosphere. There was certainly a hell of a lot of neutrals there this week, just for a night out on Saturday.

What a load of rubbish. The chants were certainly there at 18-6 and 24-12. After that we quietened down, just as every supporter would when the oppostion dominates.

St.George (that dead club) supporters come out of the wood work and the cracks in the ground when there team is winning. You see it in every walk of life. I have had guys who last year told me that they were giving up Rugby League to go watch the Waratahs come up to me and want to talk my ear off about the Dragons this year. Fickle.

I thought we were reasonably vocal until every time we were in an attacking position the bloody Jaws music started - a sure fire omen that we are about to stuff up. I wish they would abandon it.

Alright so we all got stage fright like the team did after 18 -0.

So piss off dragon gimp, we're counting the days until we embarrass you at Oki Doki.

I have to admit there was no atmosphere at all unfortunately, not like there was 3 years ago anyway before Ando took over.
